Daily Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Values for FanDuel and DraftKings - Week 4  10/2/16

We covered our main cash game plays in our Week 4 Picks where we touched on Antonio Brown, Larry Fitzgerald, T.Y. Hilton, Doug Baldwin and Terrelle Pryor. For this piece we will touch on some of the cheaper targets you can use for salary relief and/ or GPP upside.

In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

WIDE RECEIVER VALUES

Cole Beasley FD 5200 DK 3900
Opponent SF
Proj Points FD - 11.1 DK - 13.88
With the news that Dez Bryant will miss some time with a leg injury, Cole Beasley solidifies his role as Dak’s top target guy. Beasley was already there, topping the team with 25 looks through three games and that stands to continue with the passing game taking a hit without its WR1. Beasley isn’t a bi favorite to get into the end zone as his profile doesn’t line up as a red zone guy, but double digit looks are more than in play from Dak. Prescott’s been accurate this season with a 67% completion rate and the Cowboys definitely want to play a possession game. Beasley gives them this and his prices on both site offer a solid floor. Also consider Terrance Williams if some of Dez’s targets go that way as well.

Travis Benjamin FD 6600 DK 5900
Opponent NO
Proj Points FD - 13.34 DK - 15.83
Tyrell Williams FD 6400 DK 4400
Opponent NO
Proj Points FD - 13.33 DK - 15.66
While I think Benjamin is more of the popular play across the industry, Williams is right there with him in terms of targets (21-to-20 in favor of Benjamin). Yet there’s a big disparity between their prices on DraftKings. Both obviously get a dream matchup against the Saints in this one with New Orleans ranked 27th in DVOA against the pass. They’ve had “success” against WR1s though some of those metrics are suspect with their matchups. I’m all over these two guys in tournaments and possibly a little higher on Williams considering Benjamin could be more a chalky play. Williams has had a more difficult time converting though the YPC is outpacing Benjamin 18.3 to 13.5.

Steve Smith FD 6100 DK 4500
Opponent OAK
Proj Points FD - 12.59 DK - 15.36
Through three weeks Smith leads the team in targets with 26 with his best effort coming last week against Jacksonville with an 8/87 game on 11 targets. The Raiders are among the bottom in the league defending the pass this season, the game against the Titans last week aside. Smith is a solid possession guy for the price and I don’t think he’ll be on many radars. Flack’s relative accuracy and the Ravens’ lack of running game should give the Baltimore pass game plenty of opportunities. He’s another DK value at $4500 if you think the targets hit double digits again.
