Quarterback

Matt Nichols Winnipeg Blue Bombers 7600

The first thing that comes to mind here is the old saying, "don't fix what ain't broken." This week it just makes sense to keep on rolling with the Bombers' signal caller. His price jumped up from $7000 to $7600 but he is still too cheap considering how productive he has been since becoming the starter in Peg City. He boasts a 22.8 dk average in his last 5 games, with his lowest being 20 and his highest 25. At this price he is a steal in cash games with that outstanding consistency. Nichols also stays in the game on plays near the goal-line as evident by his 5 rushing Td's for the season, and 4 in his last 4 games. Almost every other CFL team brings their backup in goal-line situations, but the Bombers don't want to see old man Kevin Glenn shatter to pieces. Nichols has thrown for an average of 283 yards in his last 3 games to go along with 5 Td's. BC has an above average pass D overall this year, but Trevor Harris and the Red-Blacks torched them for 485 passing yards and 2 Td's last week. At this insanely cheap price, and a small spread combined with a high projected total of 54 makes Nichols my top cash game QB play of the week.

Jonathon Jennings British Columbia Lions 9200

Go figure. I'm recommending a QB that is about to play against by far the worst Pass D from a yards allowed perspective (329 per game) in the entire CFL, and it isn't even close. Jennings has stunk it up before in good matchups, and he is frustrating to own when your roster him, but we simply can't ignore his matchup this week vs the Blue Bombers of Winnipeg. In his last 3 games he has scored 30.3, 18.5, and 24.4 dk points, while throwing for an average of 322.3 yards and a total of 6 TD's. He also has the ability to run on any given play and has massive upside potential, but his floor is also very low from week to week. With that being said, because of this juicy matchup, I will be employing him in a lot of my tournament lineups. If for some reason you don't want to go with Nichols this week, and you can find value elsewhere, then playing Jennings in cash games shouldn't hurt you too badly.

Also Considered:) Bo-Levi Mitchell (cash) Mike Reilly (tourneys) (2 Game Slate)

Wide Receiver

Adarius Bowman Edmonton Eskimos 11,100

Derel Walker Edmonton Eskimos 10,100

I don't even care about matchups with these guys anymore. It just doesn't matter. Montreal's D is usually solid but I'm not even going to bother discussing anything about them. I'd even recommend them if they were playing an NFL Defense. Okay that was a little too far, unless it is New Orleans, ha Im a Bucs fan. Oh boy I'm trying to prove a point here. Let's just start with Bowman who leads the league in almost every receiving category this season. In his last 3 games, much like all season, Adarius the Wonder (I made that up,) has been as deadly as ever for the Eskimos. Seriously?? 23 catches out of 32 targets for 370 yards and 2 TD's??? As my 10 year nephew would say. "That's sick!!" How about an average of 25.7 dk points to convince you that he is a must play in all formats? Lock him in.

Walker on the other hand should be a famous magician because of his terrific ability to disappear into thin air for long periods of time. That's what makes him a terrific tourney play. He can all of a sudden catch a few long passes for a touchdown or two, and score 28 dk points like last week and then vanish into the darkness again. Walker's last 3 dk scores are 28, 14, and 9. If this game turns into a shootout which it should, then I could totally  see a lineup with both of these stud WR's taking down a large tourney.

Emmanuel Arceneaux B.C. Lions 9100

Tim Sinkfield Jr. B.C. Lions 3500

Like I stated in the QB section, Winnipeg gives up a massive boat or even a ship load of yards through the air, and of course we need to get exposure to their opponent. First of all Arceneaux is priced higher than he has been all year but with very good reason. He is the top target for Jennings in British Columbia. Please don't ask me why the province is called that. I don't know why. Google it. In his last 3 games Arceneaux has caught 16 of 20 passes for 296 yards and 4 TD's which gives him an average of 24.2 dk points. This week his floor and ceiling are probably the highest they have been all season. Play him in all formats.

Sinkfield Jr is going to fly under the radar this week because the average DFS player will not have a clue who he is. Well let me fill you in. This guy actually totalled 1030 receiving yards and 6 TD's last season with Hamilton in only 15 games. He was just sitting there as a free agent this year until the B.C. Lions called him up and well here he is at almost minimum salary. He played 2 weeks ago and saw only 1 target. Then he practiced all week and last week he hauled in 4 of 5 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown. With another week of practice under his belt and an extremely juicy matchup up next, he will be in all of my lineups. Done deal. Moving on...

Weston Dressler Winnipeg Blue Bombers 8100

Welcome back to my column Westy after a brief absence. His chips are good by the way. All Dressler all dressed. Maybe you will just trust me on that one. Anyways, when I recommend a QB for cash games, it is almost a guarantee that his most targeted receiver is soon to follow. Like I said BC doesn't have a bad pass D by any means but they were exposed in a huge way by Ottawa last week and I look for a high scoring back and forth game in Manitoba's capital on Saturday afternoon. Dressler has 15 receptions for 203 yards and a TD in his last 3 games, which is not bad, but he has been targeted a crazy 28 times including 11 last week. He only has 2 TD's this season, and Winnipeg has a balanced attack which limits his upside, but we just simply can't ignore him in cash games this week. Lock him in beside his QB and carry on folks.

Kamar Jorden Calgary Stampeders 5800

Man oh man, the Stampeders are the best team in the CFL, but they are also the most frustrating from a daily fantasy perspective like I've mentioned before. On that note though this is the one guy that stands out when we are looking for value. He has only played the two most recent games this year, but he has caught 15 of 23 passes thrown his way for a total 195 yards and a touchdown. That's 11.5 targets per game. Wow! Sounds like a high floor with huge upside potential to me. Play him in all formats vs. a weak Toronto Defence this week.

B.J. Cunningham Montreal Allouettes 4800

I will warn you right now that this is only a play if you need to save some salary for your last pick. You don't need to have him in your lineups but he looks like a decent play at this price. Montreal is pretty bad, and Cato their QB is quite the dude on and off the field, so who knows what is going to happen from week to week, but Cunningham for some reason is his favourite target. Maybe he's the only guy on the team that Cato doesn't want to punch in the face. In Montreal's last 3 games B.J. has caught 15 of 20 passes for 202 yards and a TD which works out to 14.9 dk points per game. Like I said Montreal sucks and they will most likely be playing from behind all game, and Cato will be trying to pass like a hundred times, if you call it passing. If you need salary relief then Cunningham is your man.

Running Back

Jerome Messam Calgary Stampeders 8200

Yes I still don't like the running back position, and this is very pricey, but I've worked it out and he fits very nicely into my cash game lineups because of the value this week at the QB and WR positions. Game script is very important for a running back especially in the CFL, and this week is lining up to be the perfect storm for Messam. He's not flashy, but when his team gets ahead, he just takes the ball and runs over guys, and whenever he plows someone over I yell "WAMMY." Hey nobody said I was a normal dude eh? Messam the Giant's floor (I made that name up too,) is always very high and because Calgary is a large favourite against an awful Toronto team, he has gigantic upside as well. I keep typing his stats in here from week to week, but not this time. They are not needed. He is the league's leading rusher by a long shot, and he knows how to find the end zone often. Lock and load the big man as usual in all formats.

Chris Rainey B.C. Lions 5200

Would you look at this?? Another B.C. Lion this week, but this is for cash game safety to fill your flex spot with and that's pretty much it. He's arguably the best return man in the CFL, and with this game having the highest projected total this week, he comes with a lot of safety. He actually plays a few offensive snaps per game and makes the most out of every play. 19.4 , 12.8, and 15.6 are his last 3 dk scores, and at $5200, I'm in. Are you?

D/ST

Calgary Stampeders 5400

Oh the beloved Calgary Stampeders and your beautiful white or gray horse galloping on the sidelines after another touchdown. Good for you guys. Ha! I'd rather watch and listen to a blue air plane from 1930 something gliding through the sky while we are all nearly choking to death from the smoke. Where was I? Oh yes. Calgary plays Toronto and yes Toronto is equivalent to a pile of garbage, and they traded half of their team away last week, so play Calgary's D/ST and relax. If you can't afford them, then Edmonton is $4900 and Montreal almost stinks as bad as Toronto. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks and good luck to each and every one of you fine specimens from all over the world this week.
