Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/04/16

Happy Friday everyone and after a massive 12 game slate in the NHL with a ton of action, things slow way down today , with the league entertaining us with a small 3 game slate. Fear nothing though my friends. We just need to pay close attention as their is little room for error in these small slates. Actually this is exactly why I enjoy days like this. Our opponents have little room for error also, and we have the system to help us profit. Arizona and Winnipeg are playing back to back as well as their 3rd game in 4 nights. Let's dive right in shall we?

GOALIES

Al Montoya FD - $8600 DK - $8100
Opponent - CBJ
Proj Pts FD - 18.35 DK - 4.59

You may be thinking "oh no, the best goalie in the world, Carey Price isn't starting for the Habs, so I should look somewhere else." I am telling you right now, don't do that. Montoya has played 4 games already this season, and he has been nothing short of brilliant by winning 3 games, and adding a shutout in one of those contests. He has allowed only 6 goals and has a save % of .955 which is awesome. Tonight Montreal travels to Columbus who is ranked 18th in the league with 2.63 goals scored per game. The Canadiens are actually 5th worst in the NHL with 32.6 shots per game, but they only allow a crazy low and league best 1.30 goals per game through 10 games. It is hard fading a Montreal goalie on any night this season, but with Montoya being $1600 cheaper than Price on FanDuel, and $600 cheaper on DraftKings, it just sweetens the deal even more. The Canadiens should be a decent sized favourite to get the very important win tonight and Montoya makes a terrific play in all formats.

CENTERS

Mark Scheifele FD - $7000 DK - $7100
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 13.3 DK - 4.27

I know the Jets are playing on the back end of back to back road games, and their 3rd game in 4 nights but on a 3 game slate, we can't be picky and I just simply really like Scheifele tonight. He is just a young pup yet so his legs should still be fresh as ever anyways. The rising star plays on one of the deadliest lines in the league, as well as the top power play unit, and Detroit isn't as scary as they used to be without Datsyuk who went back to Russia after last season. Scheifele already has 5 goals, 4 assists, 32 shots on goal and 8 blocked shots, while averaging around 21 minutes ice time per game which is a high amount. The Red Wings have allowed 9 goals in  their last 2 games, and Scheifele is a safe play today with a massive amount of upside.

Stack With: Blake Wheeler, Nikolaj Ehlers 

 

 

Ryan Kesler FD - $6000 DK - $5500
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 12.11 DK - 4.04

Anytime a team is playing the Coyotes, it is a good idea to target a few players against them. Arizona allows 3.8 goals per game, and 34.9 shots per game, which are both worst in the NHL. Not much has changed from a defensive standpoint in the desert since last season. Kesler plays on the second line as well as the #1 power play unit. He is starting to heat up as he has 7 shots with a power play goal and 2 assists in his last 2 games, and is a great play tonight as the Ducks should score at least a few goals.

Stack with: Andrew Cogliano, Jakob Silfverberg 

 

 

WINGERS

Brendan Gallagher FD - $6200 DK - $7200
Opponent - CBJ
Proj Pts FD - 12.41 DK - 3.83

This guy is the little engine that could, and he keeps getting better every year, and has a very bright future in Montreal. He plays on the top line and the top power play unit for the Canadiens, and Columbus gives up 34.1 shots per game, which is 2nd worst in the league. Gallagher has 4 goals, 5 assists, and 33 shots on goal, and makes  a good  play in all formats this evening.

Stack with: Alexander Radulov, Alex Galchenyuk

 

 

Corey Perry FD - $6700 DK - $6900
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 19.11 DK - 6.12

The system loves Perry tonight and with good reason. His partner in crime  Ryan Getzlaf may be out tonight as he is dealing with some kind of minor injury, but he  still makes for a great play against Arizona's awful and tired Defense. The star winger already has 4 goals and 4 assists and is locked in for around 20 minutes of ice time per game as he plays on the top line and the #1 Power play. The system and I both believe that Perry is a top play in all formats tonight. I don't recommend  fading him.

Stack with: Rickard Rakell, Antoine Vermette or Ryan Getzlaf  (If Healthy)

 

 

Dylan Larkin FD - $5300 DK - $5700
Opponent - WPG
Proj Pts FD - 12.31 DK - 3.85

Detroit is a tough team to target in DSF because they spread their ice time around so much, but Larkin stands out as a nice lower priced safer play. The young Red wing has 4 goals with an assist and 34 shots on goal, and against Winnipeg he should be firing on all cylinders tonight.

Stack with: Gustav Nyquist, Frans Nielsen

 

 

 

 

DEFENSEMEN

Shea Weber FD - $6300 DK - $7300
Opponent - CBJ
Proj Pts FD - 14.82 DK - 4.85

I usually like to go fairly cheap on Defense, but there is value to be had elsewhere tonight, so spending up on this short slate looks like a good idea. Weber does almost everything for the Habs and he's on the ice for around 25 minutes per game. He has 4 goals (3 pp) and 6 assists (1 sh) and 25 shots on goal with 21 blocked shots. He is a better play on FanDuel as his $7300 price tag on DraftKings is a little steep,  but if you can fit him in, you shouldn't be disappointed. He always has a high floor and his blistering shot and fearless play make him a great play on any given day.

 

Cam Fowler FD - $4400 DK - $5200
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 11.14 DK - 3.82

Here is another guy that is way cheaper on FanDuel and is a must play tonight there, and  still makes a decent play on Draftkings. Fowler plays around 23 minutes per game, and he is  on the #1 PP unit for the Ducks. So far this year he has 4 goals (3 pp) and 4 assists, as well as 25 shots on goal and 13 blocked shots, so lock him and load him tonight folks.
