What We Know

Jeremy Lin is out for 2 weeks

Jeremy Lin pulled his hammy and will remain out for at least 2 weeks. For the time being, there is going to be some guys that get a big uptick in minutes. Isaiah Whitehead will pick up about 30 minutes per night, and I expect both of them to get a healthy amount of shots up. They take on a Hornets team that does play pretty slow, so I am not overly excited about the guards. That being said, tonight is kind of weird and fi you need value, feel free to go this way. I do prefer Whitehead as he will have the ball in his hands more.

Tony Parker is out tonight

Tony Parker is going to be playing this game all year long and we are going to eventually figure out how the offense works, but not yet. We saw Jhonathan Simmons get a start and produce, and then also saw Aldridge get rested in the first week of the season. With Parker out, Patty Mills is safe and should get around 25-30 minutes. However, we are talking about Pop and nobody can predict his minute distribution.

What We're Waiting to Know

Will Deron Williams play?

The Mavericks are looking at a few key injuries today, the first of which being Deron WIlliams. Williams has played about 33 minutes on average per game, so there will definitely be some options if he sits out. For one, Wesley Matthews would handle the ball a lot more. Secondly, J.J. Barea would grab over 30 minutes and would get plenty of shots up. I could also see Seth Curry getting some minutes, but definitely prefer the other 2 guys that have upside and a built in floor.

Will Dirk Nowitzki play?

Dirk Nowitzki is another guy that will likely battle injuries all year and will be back and forth on the injury report. If he misses the game, Dwight Powell will likely step into the starting role and tends to play about 25 to 30 minutes when starting. The Mavs play Portland, so he would definitely become an interesting value play.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis is going to be our first every lineup guy, for obvious reasons. Sure, he has had a few bad games. However, they were both on short rest and a bad match up. He has neither of those tonight against the Suns. The Suns have nobody that has any chance of guarding him, and were the 27th ranked team against PF last year. While he is very expensive, he offers a ton of safety and upside.

T.J. Warren

While Warren may not be a "must play", he is pretty close. He has produced very nicely for the Suns to start the season and it looks like they will continue to get him the ball. While his shot hasn't been fantastic, he has shot enough times and gets plenty of peripherals. The Pelicans are a lackluster team and offer no help on the perimeter.
