Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/10/16

Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/10/16

Welcome back for another busy night in daily fantasy hockey. Of the 10 games going, there are three teams(ANH, CBJ, STL) playing on back to back nights and two other teams(VAN, BOS) who are playing a third game in four nights. With a big group of elite goalies projected to start tonight I feel it will be a prime time to go double value at defense in cash games to fit one of them into your lineups. Let's take a look.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIES

Carey Price FD - $10200 DK - $8400
Opponent - LA
Proj Pts FD - 20.34 DK - 5.08

You are going to have a pay a pretty penny tonight, especially on FanDuel but the "Price" is right boys and girls. The Habs have been the league's best team to start the season with 23 points and they have been even better at home with a 8-0-0 record. Price has been elite early in the year with his unbeaten 8-0 record and .953 save % and has only allowed more than two goals in a game once. He has provided a very high floor as he is facing over 33 shots per 60 minutes and if you can find enough value throughout your lineup(pay down both D spots) I think Price can work in cash games as well as GPP's tonight.

Marc-Andre Fleury FD - $8700 DK - $8000
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 17.21 DK - 4.3

The Penguins opened as -185 favorites last last night and we have now seen the line fall to -170 early Thursday morning. Fleury faces a very similar situation to Price, in that he is a home favorite but faces some tough competition. The big difference here is that you don't have to pay premium prices, especially on FanDuel where Fleury comes at a $1,500 discount. Fleury is also a candidate for both cash games and tournaments as he comes with a high floor facing 33+ shots per 60 minutes and has the upside with the win potential as he has the leagues #7 offense and PP unit in front of him.

Also Consider: Petr Mrazek (DET)

CENTERS

Mark Scheifele FD - $7500 DK - $7200
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 15.51 DK - 5.09

If we are paying up for goalie tonight we are most likely not going to be able to afford the Crosby's and Stamkos's of the world and feel comfortable with our lineups in cash games. From a PTS/$ perspective Scheifele is the play tonight. He comes at a discount off the top names and has been the hottest player in hockey over the last week. He has recorded nine points in his last three games and while this is not sustainable I don't see him being stopped tonight. He gets an elite matchup vs. the leagues worst defense as the Coyotes are giving up 3.7 goals per game.

Stack With:Patrick Laine, Nikolaj Ehlers

Patrice Bergeron FD - $6300 DK - $6700
Opponent - CBJ
Proj Pts FD - 16.05 DK - 5.08

I do realize Bergeron is struggling early in the season but the price continues to stay below $7K on both sites making him a potential low owned/high upside GPP play tonight. He is one of, if not the best two way player in the NHL and gets top minutes at both even strength on and on the powerplay. If there was one player I could see turning it around it would most definitely be Bergeron who has recorded five or more shots on goal in five of his last six games and has an unsustainable shooting percentage of 5% which is half of his career average.

Stack with: Brad Marchand, David Patrnak

Alexander Wennberg FD - $5000 DK - $5200
Opponent - BOS
Proj Pts FD - 9.83 DK - 2.76

If you are looking to go a bit contrarian at one of your center spots take a shot with Wennberg who will continue to get top minutes playing this well. Ever since Torts took over as head coach last season he has been on board with Wennberg being a top player and he has responded with some excellent offensive production. He has points in four of his last five games and now has 13 points(8 on PP) through 11 games this season and has helped Columbus to a 5th rank in offense and 1st in powerplay %.

Stack with:Nick Foligno, Brandon Saad

WINGERS

Jamie Benn FD - $7000 DK - $6700
Opponent - CGY
Proj Pts FD - 16.64 DK - 5.44

The Stars slow start to the season has helped bring the price down on Benn making him an excellent PTS/$ play tonight. He hasn't been terrible to start the year with nine points in 13 games but he definitely isn't on the pace he set last year when he finished second to Kane in points. He is still paired with Tyler Seguin on the top line and PP unit making up one of the best duo's in the league and is still averaging over 15 shot attempts per 60 this season. The matchup is in his favor tonight vs. the Flames who rank 27th in defense, allowing 3.6 goals per game. Benn is safe in all formats.

Stack with: Tyler Seguin, Patrick Eaves

Corey Perry FD - $6900 DK - $7300
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 16.93 DK - 5.04

Perry is another player in the next tier of pricing that can be considered tonight if you are employing a stud goalie lineup. While the floor hasn't totally been there lately with just six shots in his last four games, he is averaging over 13 shot attempts per 60 minutes. I believe this information tells us that he is going to have some positive regression in the shot department which would just add to the safety and upside. He hasn't let us down in the point department with 13 through 14 games including six on the powerplay. The Ducks offense sits middle of the league in large part to their 4th ranked powerplay and get a great matchup tonight vs. the Canes who rank 25th in defense.

PP Stack with: Ryan Getzlaf, Ryan Kesler, Cam Fowler

Carl Hagelin FD - $4900 DK - $4400
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 9.77 DK - 2.84

Hagelin ranks out as one of the best PTS/$ value plays night in and night out until his price comes up. While he isn't getting any powerplay minutes at the moment, his value comes directly from playing on the top line with Crosby and Hornqvist.  He is also playing with big time confidence right now with points in three of his last four games including a three point effort against the Sharks.

Stack with: Sidney Crosby, Patric Hornqvist

DEFENSEMEN

Cam Fowler FD - $4300 DK - $5600
Opponent - CAR
Proj Pts FD - 10.22 DK - 3.22

While I normally like paying up for at least one D man in cash games, tonight won't be one of those nights. Fowler is priced a lot more fairly on DraftKings but on FanDuel he is an elite play from a PTS/$ perspective. He isn't the most consistent offensive option on a night to night basis but does have nine points through his first 14 games this season. The consistent fantasy play has come with his shots and blocks recently. He has recorded two or more blocks in four of his last five and two or more shots on goal in five of his last six games.

Alexander Edler FD - $4300 DK - $4200
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 8.6 DK - 2.79

Edler is not a D man for tournaments as he has very minimal offensive upside with just one point through 13 games. For cash games he makes complete sense as a low end salary relief option to help get you to Carey Price and a few top forwards. He provides a decent floor with nearly three blocks and two shots on goal per game and is averaging 2.7 DK/8.7 FD points this season with ZERO offense.
