BDaily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 12/6/16

Welcome back for another night of daily fantasy hockey. Tuesday brings us nine games on the main slate with just three teams(ARI, FLA, BUF) playing on back to back nights. With some high end players in great situations we will have to find some values throughout the lineup with defense being a great source. Let's dig in.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIES

Pekka RinnePekka Rinne FD - $9300 DK - $7900
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 17.46 DK - 4.36

Rinne is in a great spot tonight to get back on track after a dud on Saturday. If you played him Saturday don't hold it against him as he hasn't allowed more than three goals in a game since late October. He was also coming off a tremendous November in which he went 9-1-2 with a .949 save % and one shutout. The shutout upside hasn't really been there but the floor is high as he is facing over 30 shots per 60 minutes and always has a great shot at the win with the leagues' #6 ranked offense in front of him. He is safe in all formats tonight as a -200 favorite at home to the Avalanche.

Cory SchneiderCory Schneider FD - $9100 DK - $8000
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 17.63 DK - 4.41

If you are looking for a lower owned option between the pipes for larger field tournaments, take a deep hard look at Schneider tonight. Yes he has been struggling, allowing three or more goals against in six straight starts but he is too good to see this continue. He will be in a good spot to turn his season around and get back to his October success in a home matchup against the Canucks. The Devils open as -170 favorites as they have been much better at home(7-0-2) this season while the Canucks own a poor road record(3-7-3). The Devils success on home ice has been directly tied to Schneider as well as he holds a 7-0-1 record with a .920 save percentage. The price took a big jump on DraftKings which furthers cements his projected low ownership tonight.

Also Consider: Steve Mason(PHI)

CENTERS

John TavaresJohn Tavares FD - $8000 DK - $7600
Opponent - NYR
Proj Pts FD - 16.66 DK - 5.49

You are probably shocked to not see McJesus lead off tonight as he has become one of DFSR's and pretty much any hockey fans favorite player outside their own team. Don't worry we will talk about him a little bit later. With most people clicking McDavid's name instantly tonight, I think it makes a great contrarian GPP approach to slide down and roll with Tavares. He is making the most of a bad situation on the island as he isn't surrounded by much talent. His price comes with a nice discount and he is trending in the right direction with points in four of his last five games.

Stack With: Josh Bailey, Brock Nelson

Aleksander BarkovAleksander Barkov FD - $6500 DK - $5800
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 10.27 DK - 3.45

I have talked about targeting players against the Flyers all year and it isn't going to stop tonight. The OVER has is currently sitting at 15-9-3 in Flyer games this year when looking at a few top betting sites trends. To further enhance my point, the Flyers have only been involved in one game where the total has been less than four goals and it was a 3-0 loss to Tampa. Sale pitch over. Target Barkov tonight who doesn't show up from a PTS/$ perspective but is trending in the right direction. He has tallied two goals in his last three games and has a point in four of his last six averaging right around 3.5 shots per game.

Stack with: Jaromir Jagr, Denis Malgin

Brayden SchennBrayden Schenn FD - $5800 DK - $5400
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 10.26 DK - 3.49

On the other side of this matchup the Flyers continue to roll with confidence winning five straight games coming into tonight. Schenn was moved back to his natural center position and has been playing well with points in three of his last four games. For the price, under $6K on both sites, he is providing a nice floor as he has multiple shots in five straight and 15 of his last 17 games. Schenn centers the second with Simmonds and Konecny and also gets heavy usage on the top powerplay unit. He is safe in all formats.

Stack with: Wayne Simmonds, Travis Konecny

WINGERS

Patrick KanePatrick Kane FD - $8500 DK - $8100
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 17.97 DK - 6

Whenever you can get the reigning MVP at a discount from the top players you take advantage. I am getting my access to McDavid and the Oilers through Draisaitl tonight so I can roster Kane. He and the entire Hawks team is in a great spot tonight at home to the Coyotes who are playing the second of back to back games on the road. They also rank 29th in defense allowing 3.13 goals per game. Kane is one of the most consistent players in the league and has tallied points in five of his last six games. He is safe in all formats tonight.

Stack with: Artem Anisimov, Artemi Panarin

Leon DraisaitlLeon Draisaitl FD - $6100 DK - $6100
Opponent - BUF
Proj Pts FD - 11 DK - 3.38

It's been a terrific season for Draisaitl who, for the most part, has been playing on the second line but getting top minutes with McDavid on the powerplay. The Oilers have now moved him to the top line with McDavid and it seems he is feeding off the elite forward. He has recorded 12 points over his last 10 games pushing his point total to 21 for the season. As his salary goes up the floor drop as he only averages around two shots per game but his value comes with ice time and opportunity. He has upside in a tournament stack with McDavid and Lucic and also makes a nice value play for cash games to get cheaper exposure to the Oilers offense.

Stack with: Connor McDavid, Milan Lucic

Michael CammalleriMichael Cammalleri FD - $5500 DK - $5500
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 12.02 DK - 3.64

He is pretty much unfadeable right now. Since returning tho the lineup on November 23 he has tallied six goals and five assists with 23 shots. Wow. What's even more impressive is he is doing this on a 19th ranked offensive team. The best part about Cammalleri is that his price has only budged $300 on FanDuel and $900 on DraftKings since returning. He gets an excellent matchup tonight at home to the Canucks who struggle on the road(3-7-1) and rank 21st in defense. Get on board before he is $6,500 on both sites.

Stack with: Travis Zajac, Kyle Palmieri

DEFENSEMEN
Aaron EkbladAaron Ekblad FD - $5600 DK - $4800
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 9.34 DK - 3.22

He doesn't stand out from a PTS/$ value perspective as the system is down on his low point total. For cash games, I think he makes perfect sense as he is starting to trend in the right direction with five of those points coming in the last 10 games. He has also seen an uptick in his shot total averaging 3.7 per game. As I mentioned with Barkov, all Panthers players receive a small boost in a projected high scoring game in Philly.

Ivan ProvorovIvan Provorov FD - $4000 DK - $4200
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 8.92 DK - 2.73

If McDavid isn't my favorite player to write about it is most definitely been Provorov this season. He is crushing it from a PTS/$ value tonight and when he isn't recording shots and contributing offensively, he is blocking shots and providing a very safe floor for the low price. Not much more I can add on a daily basis besides play him until the price and opportunity go away.
