GOALIES

Brian ElliottBrian Elliott FD - $8600 DK - $8500
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 19.27 DK - 4.82

There are two goalies that stand out in a big way today and let's start with Elliot who has been red hot for awhile now (no pun intended.) Him and the Flames defeated his old team the St. Louis Blues last game as he allowed only two goals. He has now won 12 of his last 13 games while allowing only 25 goals and earning two shutouts during those 13 games. The veteran tender and the Flames welcome a weak Avalanche squad and their 30th ranked offense to town this evening and they are a massive -270 favorite to win this game. Elliot is an elite play in all formats today so roster him confidence.

Jake AllenJake Allen FD - $8800 DK - $8300
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 19.8 DK - 4.95

Allen and the Blues are also a massive -270 favorite today as they host the Coyotes and their  27th ranked defense. Like Elliot, Allen started the season off slow but has come on very strong lately. He suffered a loss to the Flames last game, but before that, he won three in a row as he allowed only three goals while earning a shutout. In his last 10 games, he has only allowed 15 goals to go along with two shutouts. Allen is an elite play in all formats.

Also Consider: Cam Ward (GPP)

CENTERS

Jack EichelJack Eichel FD - $7800 DK - $7200
Opponent - FLA
Proj Pts FD - 15.29 DK - 4.59

Wow, has this guy been good lately or what? The young superstar in the making has three goals (2 on the PP), two assists and 21 shots on goal in his last four games. Eichel averages 4.1 shots per game this season which means he has safety written all over home every time he hits the ice. He has been a favorite here at DFSR lately and tonight he and the Sabres welcome the Panthers and their 16th ranked defense to town. He actually may be lower owned than normal today because of the fact that Florida is coming off of a huge 7-0 victory against the Blackhawks. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, so don't be scared of the Panthers today. Eichel is safe in all formats.

Stack With: Marcus Foligno, Sam Reinhart

Brayden PointBrayden Point FD - $4400 DK - $5500
Opponent - CHI
Proj Pts FD - 9.44 DK - 2.69

Welcome to the NHL Mr. Point. How is centering Nikita Kucherov on the #1 line and #1 powerplay working out? The Lightning seem to like the combination. Point is an exciting player to watch and he has been a huge DFSR favorite since Tyler Johnson became injured and he became the newest addition to the triplet line. The young man has a goal, an assist, four shots and three blocks in his last two games while averaging 22 minutes of ice time per game. He is simply way too cheap especially on Fanduel. Chicago is ranked 8th defensively, but they own the 29th ranked penalty kill and they recently got beat 7-0 in Florida. Point is a solid play in all formats on Fanduel and a decent GPP play stacked with his line-mates on Draftkings.

Stack with: Nikita Kucherov, Ondrej Palat

Elias LindholmElias Lindholm FD - $5400 DK - $4800
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 11.02 DK - 3.17

Holy Mackerel. I am a fisherman, so I need to use a fishing reference now and then. The young Swede is on a 10 game point streak! You read that correctly. The 22 year old was Carolina's fifth overall pick in the 2013 draft and he's starting to pay dividends. During his 10 game scoring streak he has four goals, seven assists and 24 shots on goal while averaging 17 minutes of ice time. He plays on the #1 line and #1 PP unit which gives him plenty of opportunities. Lindholm is also too cheap, especially on Draftkings. My strategy today is to use Eichel and Point as my two centers on Fanduel and Eichel and Lindholm on Draftkings.

Stack with: Sebastian Aho, Phillip Di Giuseppe

WINGERS

Note: Patrick Kane is an elite play every time he hits the ice, but he's expensive. If you can fit him into your lineups great, but let's look for some value at cheaper prices.

Johnny GaudreauJohnny Gaudreau FD - $7500 DK - $6600
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 15.44 DK - 4.43

Johnny Hockey is heating up just in time for the playoffs as the Flames are all but locked into a wildcard spot in the Western Conference. The young star is on a four-game point streak with a goal and six assists and six shots on goal. The Avalanche aren't only bad defensively, but they are actually worse offensively as they are ranked 29th in that category. We need to get exposure to players who play against weak teams. Gaudreau is a great GPP play today and because of his opponent, he is also a solid cash-game play.

Stack with: Sean Monahan, Michael Ferland

Viktor ArvidssonViktor Arvidsson FD - $6700 DK - $6200
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 16.32 DK - 4.58

Here we have another guy who is defying the odds of being a tiny player in today's game. Do you remember Marty Murray? He is from a town very close to me and I wish he would have had a longer NHL career but it just didn't work out in the old school clutch and grab game. Well, Arvidsson is currently enjoying life in the NHLand is coming off a big game where he scored a goal on five shots and added an assist against the Sharks and has four goals in his last five games. Tonight, the Predators face-off against the Islanders and their lowly 26th ranked defense. He isn't the safest play because of his ability to disappear at times, but stacked with his talented linemates, he is an elite GPP play this evening as he has hat-trick upside.

Stack with: Ryan Johansen, Filip Forsberg

Jaden SchwartzJaden Schwartz FD - $5900 DK - $5500
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 12.79 DK - 3.68

I've always liked how this guy plays the game and I'm glad that he's finding success in St. Louis. He has actually been producing better numbers than his linemate Tarasenko lately. Schwartz is currently on a three-game point streak with two goals, an assist and a whopping 14 shots on goal. He plays on the top line and #1 PP unit and we need to pick on the Coyotes and their not so good 27th ranked defense. From a PTS/$ perspective, Schwartz is one of my top overall plays and he's a terrific play in all formats.

Stack with: Alex Steen, Vladimir Tarasenko

DEFENSEMEN

Alex PietrangeloAlex Pietrangelo FD - $5400 DK - $5500
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 12.28 DK - 3.69

Hey, would you look at this? Another player who is about to play against the Coyotes. Since Shattenkirk left town, this guy has taken over the reigns on the Blues defense. In his last 13 games, the young American has three goals, eight assists, 32 shots and 25 blocks, while averaging 26 minutes of ice time and 2:45 PP time per game. In his last five games, he has two goals, two assists (2 on the PP), 12 shots and nine blocks. Is he safe? Definitely. Does he have upside against Arizona? You bet he does! Lock and Load Pietrangelo with a ton of confidence in all formats today folks.

Jaccob SlavinJaccob Slavin FD - $4200 DK - $4200
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 7.81 DK - 2.26

This is not a flashy pick, but he gets the job done and today Slavin and the 'Canes welcome the Redwings and their 25th ranked offense to town. The young man only has 89 shots on goal in 73 games, but he has 149 blocked shots and 31 points, with four of them on the powerplay and an impressive four short-handed points. He lacks upside but he has a ton of safety written all over him today against a lowly Detroit squad. Roster him in your cash game lineups.

Also Consider: Mark Giordano (CGY)
