Houston Astros

I really hope you didn't expect to see the Astros ignored here. When a team is possessing a 6.20 implied total in an average ballpark, you're bonkers to ignore it. It has only happened once or twice all season long. That's a number you see in Coors Field. However, James Shield is basically the walking Coors Field. He has allowed a .394 wOBA to lefties against a .354 against righties. He allowed nearly 3 HR's per 9 innings and has a hard time getting an ant out, let along MLB hitters. We know how lethal this Astros lineup is and the potential for an early exit is there. The White Sox have one of the worst bullpens in the game, so it could get very ugly, very fast. With Shields being a bit worse against lefties, Reddick is my favorite in the OF. He has the power to hit it out and is sandwiched between Altuve and Springer. Altuve is a must if you're ever stacking the Astros. The rest of the order is full of great bats against righties and I can't fault you for using any of them. The main point is to make sure you get exposure to this team. I would say this is the most confidence I've had in an offense all year long.

Main Stack - Jose Altuve, Josh Reddick, Marwin Gonzalez, George Springer
Sneaky Stack - Jose Altuve, Josh Reddick, Carlos Correa, Brian McCann

St. Louis Cardinals

Williams "Rookie" Davis has done his best James Shields impression thus far, giving up an insane .429 wOBA to both righties and lefties. He is young, and the small sample size should be considered. However, he wasn't great in the minors and the Reds aren't necessarily surprised by what they've seen. He might get better eventually, but I highly doubt it's in 2017. Davis has a long way to go and he now faces a Cardinals team that's used to hitting in Busch Stadium. Great American Ballpark is one of the 2 best in the league for HR's and actually slightly outranked Coors Field in 2016. I know, crazy. Matt Carpenter should be back for this one after pinch hitting last night, so I love him. Paul DeJong has been a monster against righties to start the season and the lack of Slider out of Davis is surely enticing. The third must for me is Dexter Fowler. Hitting from both sides, he is effective no matter who comes in the game. He also has speed and power that's not matched by many. The rest of the orde ris up in the air and I'm fine with whoever you want.

Main Stack - Matt Carpenter, Dexter Fowler, Paul Dejong, Jose Martinez
Sneaky Stack - Matt Carpenter, Dexter Fowler, Paul Dejong, Yadier Molina

  • If you told me the 2-5 hitters for the d-backs would make 0 fantasy points against wood last night, I would have bet both my testicles against it. I'm so glad all I lost was a lot of money.
