Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 11/29/17

Welcome back hockey fans. While it's a relatively quiet night in the National Hockey League with just four games, there is no shortage of fantasy value for us to dig through. Let's jump in and look at some of the top plays at each position.

GOALIE

Jake Allen FD - $8600 DK - $8300
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 14.79 DK - 3.7

Allen hasn't been an elite option this season with a weaker .908 save % but he is at home tonight in a favorable matchup on a small slate. This combined with the Blues Top 5 defense and offense has him at the top of the board tonight when looking at the goalie position. He comes in with wins in four straight and six of his last eight starts and will face a Ducks team that has been struggling with some key injuries to Ryan Getzlaf(IR) and Rickard Rakell(Day to Day). They come into tonight having lost four straight games while scoring just seven goals. Fire up Allen in all formats.

Carey Price FD - $8700 DK - $7900
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 15.24 DK - 3.81

Speaking of struggling teams, the Ottawa Senators have dropped six straight games while scoring just eight goals total(1.3 per game) so you can almost pencil in any goalie in the league against them. The thing here is that Carey Price is not just any goalie but rather one of the best in the league and an elite play in all formats tonight. He returned from nearly a month off due to injury and has been lights out winning both starts while stopping 73 of 74 shots he has faced with a shutout. I love both goalies tonight and will be splitting them in all formats.

 

CENTERS

Jonathan Drouin FD - $5400 DK - $5100
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 12.29 DK - 3.63

It's rare for me but I will be going value with both center recommendations tonight on a five-game slate. I think Stamkos is fine for GPP formats with his huge upside but will be facing one of the top shut-down players in the league in Patrice Bergeron of the Bruins. Enter Jonathan Drouin who has let us down for most of the season as has the entire Habs offense, to be honest, but he has been played well in back to back games with a goal and two assists and gets a plus matchup vs. a struggling Sens team that has lost six straight allowing 21 total goals. The shot volume is lower than I would like but on a small slate I will side with the matchup and value price and play Drouin in all formats.

Stack with: Paul Byron, Alex Galchenyuk

Brayden Point FD - $5300 DK - $5800
Opponent - BOS
Proj Pts FD - 11.22 DK - 3.21

While Stamkos and the top line has a tough matchup, it should help open up the second line for the Lightning tonight and leading the way is ex Moose Jaw Warrior, Brayden Point. He has taken on a bit of an elevated role as a top-six forward this season and is well on his way to a career year as he has already surpassed half of his point total from his rookie season in a third of the games. He isn't just an upside play either as he has seen an uptick in shot volume lately with 31 over his last 10 games. With a price under $6K on both sites, he is playable in all formats.

Stack with: Ondrej Palat, Yanni Gourde

WINGERS

Vladimir Tarasenko FD - $8500 DK - $7600
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 16.47 DK - 4.81

I highlighted Jake Allen in the goalie section but it hasn't been just the offense struggling for the Ducks as they have allowed a total of 17 goals in their current four-game losing streak and have fallen to the middle of the pack in overall defense. Enter Vladimir Tarasenko who has been tearing it up this season with 28 points(9th overall) with nine multi-point games and he also provides a huge floor with 108 shots on goal(4.5 per game). He is my top play in all formats tonight.

Let's make this clear right off the top. My buddy and article partner Ryan is a die-hard Habs fan while I can't stand them in real life it makes it hard for me to ignore him in fantasy with snipes like that. He skates on the listed third line but leads the team in goals with 10 and sits second to only Drouin(mentioned above) in points with 15. He is nothing more than an upside GPP play on FanDuel at a price over $6K but is a terrific value in all formats on DraftKings as he remains in the mid $4K range and faces a struggling Sens team.

DEFENSEMEN

Colton Parayko FD - $4900 DK - $4900
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 10.15 DK - 2.85

While I have consistently mentioned the Blues Alex Pietrangelo on the high end and Joel Edmundson on the low end, I have somewhat ignored Colton Parayko right in the middle. He has been on a roll offensively lately with points in five of his last six games including two multi-point efforts as he has shown off his upside and has also provided a safe floor as well with 30 shots and 11 blocks over his last 10 games. With a price under $5K on both sites, he is terrific PTS/$ value tonight vs. the struggling Ducks.

Jordie Benn FD - $3700 DK - $3100
Opponent - OTT
Proj Pts FD - 7.09 DK - 2.07

I will be loading up on the Blues and Lightning tonight so I will once again be looking for a punt play on defense and will turn to ole' trusty Jordie Benn. He provides almost no upside with just six points on the season but does have a reasonable floor(for the price) with 30 blocked shots in his last 10 games and 50 for the season. Not looking for much here and will use him in all formats.
