Hello hockey fans and welcome to another exciting day of NHL action here at DFSR. Today, there are two early games, but we will be focusing our attention on the 10-game main slate on each site. There are some high-powered offenses as well as some weak defenses in action this evening so let's not waste any more time and dive right into the picks.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. GOALIE

Carey PriceCarey Price FD - $8900 DK - $8000
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 16.73 DK - 4.18

As my buddy Chris mentioned a few days ago, I am indeed a die hard Habs fan and I have a very expensive signed authentic Price Jersey in a case with a lock on it, so I am ecstatic that he is finally back to 100%. The superstar tender is 4-0 since returning to action while allowing only five goals(three of them happened last game of a back-to-back in Detroit) and earning a shutout in the process. The Red Wings are ranked 24th offensively with 2.73 goals per game and Price and the Habs defeated them 6-3 on Thursday and Price was 2-0 against them last season with only one goal allowed and a shutout. Price is right so fire him up with confidence in all formats.

Pekka RinnePekka Rinne FD - $8900 DK - $8300
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 14.56 DK - 3.87

I am going to give this guy a mulligan after his performance against Vancouver last game because that was his first game that he has lost on home ice all season and he still has a brilliant record of 14-4-2 to go along with a .925 save %. The Predators welcome the Ducks to town who will be playing their third road game in four nights so they will be exhausted and they are ranked 27th in offense with only 2.64 goals scored per game. Rinne is a solid play in all formats this evening.

Also Consider: Andrei Vasilevskiy GPP formats only.

CENTERS

Evgeni MalkinEvgeni Malkin FD - $7700 DK - $6800
Opponent - BUF
Proj Pts FD - 13.95 DK - 4.16

The gentle giant is back and healthy for the Penguins and as I speak, he just assisted on a Jake Guentzel goal. Because he was injured, his salaries on each site are ridiculously low for what he brings to the table and the Sabres are ranked fourth-worst defensively while allowing 3.36 goals per game. In 22 games, the Russian superstar has seven goals and 14 assists with 65 shots on goal and look for him to find the scoresheet again this evening. Malkin is a great play in all formats.

Stack with: Phil Kessel, Jake Guentzel

Artem AnisimovArtem Anisimov FD - $5800 DK - $5600
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 11.05 DK - 3.21

After a powerplay goal last game against the Stars, the young Russian has two goals in his last three games to go along with eight shots on goal and he centers the dangerous Patrick Kane while also seeing time on the #2 powerplay unit. He averages only two shots per game, so he's not a great cash game play, but look for the Hawks to be out for revenge against the Stars tonight and use him on his own or stack him with his linemates in your GPP lineups.

Stack with: Patrick Kane, Nick Schmaltz

Nico HischierNico Hischier FD - $5500 DK - $5700
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 9.08 DK - 2.6

Chris wrote about this guy last night, so this will be short and sweet. Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that Arizona is bad at hockey and their defense is no exception(ranked last overall). We need exposure to the Devils and this young man is on a three-game point streak with two goals, an assist, and eight shots (the Devils are playing at the time of this writing), so at these cheap prices, he is playable everywhere as long as he keeps playing alongside superstar Taylor Hall.

Stack with: Taylor Hall, Jesper Bratt

Also Consider: Sean Monahan (CGY) in GPP formats only.

WINGERS

Filip ForsbergFilip Forsberg FD - $8000 DK - $7100
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 15.33 DK - 4.25

As I mentioned above, this will be Anaheim's third road game in four nights which usually ends up being a disaster for the visiting team and Forsberg has been tearing it up lately as he has points in nine of his last 10 games and he has two goals and nine shots in his last two. The Ducks are ranked 19th defensively and should allow a few goals today, so lock and load Forsberg in all formats, my friends.

Stack with: Viktor Arvidsson, Ryan Johansen

Patric HornqvistPatric Hornqvist FD - $5600 DK - $6500
Opponent - BUF
Proj Pts FD - 12.95 DK - 3.82

I already mentioned Malkin, but this veteran winger plays on a separate line with a guy you may have heard of, Sidney Crosby, and joins Malkin on the top powerplay unit. We need heavy exposure to the Penguins tonight against an awful Sabres defense and just a day ago on the Penguins defeated Buffalo 4-0 with this guy scoring a goal and now they face them in Pittsburgh which could get ugly fast. I like using Malkin and Hornqvist in cash games and stacking each of the top two lines in my tournament lineups.

Stack with: Sidney Crosby, Connor Sheary

Alex GalchenyukAlex Galchenyuk FD - $4800 DK - $4800
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 10.93 DK - 3.23

The Habs spread their ice-time around quite a bit, but with Jonathan Drouin injured, there is more playing time for everyone and this guy offers safety with 11 shots in his last three games and 18 in his last five, and upside to boot as he has two goals and two assists in his last four games. The Red Wings allow 3.04 goals per game and they allowed six to the Habs two nights ago in Detroit so, at these prices, Galchenyuk is a solid play in all formats.

Stack with: Paul Byron, Max Pacioretty

Also Consider: Nikita Kucherov (TB) GPP play only at the top end in a tough matchup against the Sharks, but Tampa Bay still owns the league's #1 offense, Josh Anderson (CLB) Value play in all formats as he's on a five game point-streak (two goals, one assist last night) and the Caps are a surprisingly bottom 10 defense.

DEFENSEMEN

Brent BurnsBrent Burns FD - $6800 DK - $6700
Opponent - TB
Proj Pts FD - 14.42 DK - 4.41

Chris Durell's bearded brother had a horrendous start to the season which has kept his salary levels lower than they should be on both sites, but he has heated up recently as he is now on a five-game point streak with a goal and five assists after he got an assist on Friday evening in Florida. The grizzled veteran also leads all defensemen with 93 shots on goal and has added 38 blocks, so if you're paying up at the position tonight, Burns is a solid play in all formats.

Darnell NurseDarnell Nurse FD - $4200 DK - $4100
Opponent - CGY
Proj Pts FD - 7.78 DK - 2.3

I like value plays at the defense position, especially in cash games, and we need to look for a guy who is cheap and contributes in shots and blocks as well as scoring the odd point. Nurse is too cheap to ignore on both sites and last game, he had two assists and five shots and he has 15 shots and nine blocks in his last five games, so fire him up in your cash game lineups.

Also Consider: Alexander Edler (VAN)
