Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 3/31/18

Hello my friends and fellow hockey fans. Welcome to another day of NHL action here at DFSR. Today, there are 12 games but for the purpose of the article, we will be concentratin solely on the nine-game main slate on both sites. Let's not waste any more time and dive right into some picks.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIE

Pekka RinnePekka Rinne FD - $9000 DK - $8600
Opponent - BUF
Proj Pts FD - 17.36 DK - 4.34

After proving that he is actually human while allowing eight goals in two games, the superstar tender allowed only one goal against the Wild last game. Rinne now boasts a terrific 41-11-4 record to go along with a .929 save %, nine shutouts, and a 2.25 GAA. The Sabres and their punchless league-worst offense travel to Music City this evening and the Preds are listed as gigantic -310 favorites so all things considered, Rinne is an elite play and my top goalie in all formats.

Antti RaantaAntti Raanta FD - $7700 DK - $7300
Opponent - STL
Proj Pts FD - 15.74 DK - 3.94

This young man was mentored by Henrik Lundqvist in New York and it's starting to show as he is 6-1 in the month March while allowing no more than three goals nor earning less than a .931 save % in any game during that span. It's time to be a believer with this superstar in the making and the Blues aren't good offensively as they are ranked 24th in that category. Raanta is my second favorite goalie and a great way to seperate ourselves from the masses in GPP lineups this evening.

CENTERS

Tyler SeguinTyler Seguin FD - $8200 DK - $7000
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 16.23 DK - 4.75

It's a smart idea to pay attention to Seguin when he is playing on home-ice as he has 48 of his 74 points while playing in Dallas. The veteran centerman has three assists and 11 shots in his last two games, he is first amongst centers with an elite 4.15 shot per game average and the Wild are much worse on the road as they are ranked fifth-worst in defense. The offense runs through this guy in all situations so lock him and load him in all formats this evening.

Stack with: Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov

Auston MatthewsAuston Matthews FD - $7800 DK - $6800
Opponent - WPG
Proj Pts FD - 17.2 DK - 4.89

The former #1 overall pick is about as consistent as it comes from a fantasy standpoint as he has 56 points to go along with a 3.03 shot per game average, and a block per game in 58 games. Matthews has also displayed upside lately as he is on a five game point-streak since coming back from an injury. During those five games he has three goals and three assists and even though the Jets own a top 10 road-offense, they gave up six goals last game and could be wearing down towards the end of the season. Fire up the young stud in all formats this evening, my friends.

Stack with: William Nylander, Zach Hyman

Kyle TurrisKyle Turris FD - $5500 DK - $5200
Opponent - BUF
Proj Pts FD - 9.89 DK - 2.96

It's time to dive into the value well and this young man is on a three-game point streak with two goals, two assists, and seven shots while averaging 16 minutes of ice-time. It's nice to see him heating up before the playoffs and he plays on the #2 line and the #2 powerplay unit for the Predators so fire him up in all formats against the Sabres and their leaky third-worst defense.

Stack with: Craig Smith, Kevin Fiala

WINGERS

Taylor HallTaylor Hall FD - $8300 DK - $7800
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 16.65 DK - 4.85

Chris mentioned that it's time to get back on board with this superstar play-maker and he couldn't have been more correct. Hall has a goal, three assists, and 12 shots in his last two games and is on a six game point streak with three goals and seven assists. He also has an elite 3.62 shot per game average and 86 points in 72 games so all things considered, Hall is an elite play and easily my top winger in all formats against the Isles and their league-worst defense.

Stack with: Kyle Palmieri, Nico Hischier

Patric HornqvistPatric Hornqvist FD - $6400 DK - $6300
Opponent - MON
Proj Pts FD - 15.23 DK - 4.45

In case you didn't know, I am a die-hard Habs fan so you can send me boxes of tissue and sympathy cards if you like as they are awful and they own the league's eighth-worst defense. Hornqvist plays on the #2 line and the #1 powerplay unit and he has two goals and two assists in his last four games to go along with an insane 49 shots in his last 10. He has the perfect amount of safety and upside that we are looking for in all formats so lock and load the veteran winger this evening.

Stack with: Evgeni Malkin, Carl Hagelin

Brock McGinnBrock McGinn FD - $3900 DK - $3200
Opponent - NYR
Proj Pts FD - 9.1 DK - 2.62

This young man was recently promoted to the top line for the 'Canes and he has an impressive three goals and 13 shots in his last four games while averaging 16 minutes of ice-time. The Rangers and their fifth-worst defense have packed it in for the season so lock McGinn into your lineups in all formats and spend elsewhere.

Stack with: Justin Williams, Jordan Staal

Also Consider: Jon Marchessault(VEG) GPP formats only against a tough STL defense.

DEFENSEMEN

Dustin ByfuglienDustin Byfuglien FD - $6000 DK - $6000
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 12.15 DK - 3.66

Big Buff has been on a tear recently as he has a goal, an assist, 18 shots, and six blocks in his last three games and he plays on the #1 powerplay unit for the Jets and their #2 ranked offense. The Leafs own the league's 12th-ranked defense which isn't bad but Buff is red-hot and can be considered in all formats this evening.

Adam PelechAdam Pelech FD - $3500 DK - $3200
Opponent - NJ
Proj Pts FD - 6.44 DK - 1.89

Back to the value well and this guy made me look smart last night as he recorded two assists and a block to give him three assists in his last two games and 13 shots and 17 blocks in his last six. It could be a goal-fest in Jersey this evening so lock Pelech into your lineups in all formats.

Also Consider: Ryan Ellis(NSH) All formats, John Moore(NJ) Cash game formats only.
