Point Guard

Eric Bledsoe FD - $7500 DK - $6900
Opponent - DEN
Proj Pts FD - 35.12 DK - 34.67

Welcome to NBA Monday! After a weekend chalk full of football, we have a fun slate of basketball tonight. We have 9 games on the board with plenty of injuries and opportunities to take advantage of. Starting with point guard, there is plenty to look at. On the high-end, Ben Simmons, Kemba Walker, and Kyrie Irving are all fine. They don't stand out, but have tournament upside and won't be too popular. We'll instead kick things off with Eric Bledsoe, who's been extremely consistent as of late. He's playing 30 minutes on a consistent basis and has been over 35 fantasy points in five straight games. He now draws a match-up with the Nuggets, who run in the bottom 10 against point guards. They play a lot slower than we're used to, but still don't have much of a defensive presence. . His price is still fair and Bledsoe is a strong option in all formats. Especially on DK under $7k.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander FD - $6000 DK - $5300
Opponent - ATL
Proj Pts FD - 32.94 DK - 32.33
Patrick Beverley FD - $4800 DK - $4900
Opponent - ATL
Proj Pts FD - 22.75 DK - 23.1

We do need to pay attention to the status of Avery Bradley, who’s listed as questionable tonight. Assuming he’s once again out tonight, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Patrick Beverley will split minutes at guard. Both have been productive as of late and this is their best match-up yet. The Hawks not only play fast, but rank 26th in the league against opposing point guards. Bazemore is slightly better than Young at defense, so whoever draws that match-up has a slight advantage. Beverley is a bit more safe and SGA has far more upside. They are both viable across the board.

Darren Collison FD - $5100 DK - $4900
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 23.08 DK - 23.08
Cory Joseph FD - $4100 DK - $3900
Opponent - UTA
Proj Pts FD - 17.65 DK - 17.68

As of now, Victor Oladipo is listed a questionable to play tonight. He played just 4 minutes after his right knee flared up and forced him to leave early. Both Darren Collison and Cory Joseph are in like to pick up 30 minutes and will have the ball in their hands a lot more than the average night. Collison is actually my favorite, as he’s shown the ability to consistent put 40 fantasy points on the board when given the opportunity. I don’t think he’s anywhere close to that tonight, but he’s cheap and the opportunity is a guarantee. The Jazz are also bad against point guards (23rd), so don’t just assume a match-up with Utah means doom. Both of these guys are cash game gems and I don’t think either has the capability of killing your roster.

Shooting Guard

Jimmy Butler FD - $8500 DK - $7900
Opponent - PHO
Proj Pts FD - 40.33 DK - 39.58
J.J. Redick FD - $5600 DK - $5300
Opponent - PHO
Proj Pts FD - 27.8 DK - 29.66

We could've easily touched on Ben Simmons against the Suns in this phenomenal match-up, but Butler may eat into his work and the price is still high. instead, we'll focus on both of these SG's. Redick is still getting minutes and will be over 30 on a consistent basis. There's also another shooter on the team now, so Redick may start getting some separation on the 3-point line. He's as safe as it gets against a Suns team that gives up tons of open threes and one of the fastest PACE in basketball. Butler hasn't been over 50 fantasy points just yet, but I personally guarantee we will see it very soon. This match-up is great and Butler is still way too cheap on both sites. At 224, this game is sitting at the third highest total on the board. All in all, Butler and Redick are both great plays in both formats and should be pretty popular.

Dennis Schroder FD - $7500 DK - $8100
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 35.58 DK - 36.7

With Russell Westbrook out, Dennis Schroder has been explosive. When Westbrook returns, he knows he has a real weapon second to Paul George. George will still be his right hand man, but Schroder has proven that he can score on his own and create offense with a PnR. Westbrook will remain out for this contest and we can expect another 30+ minutes from Schroder. Tonight, he sees one of the better match-ups in the league for point guards. The Kings rank 26th against point guards and are trending downwards. De'Aaron Fox is a tremendous offensive player, but the Kings play fast and he doesn't play defense. Schroder will dice this defense up and it's safe to expect another 35+ fantasy points with the ceiling for far more.

Small Forward

T.J. Warren FD - $7000 DK - $6400
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 33.98 DK - 33.31

There's going to be a lot of differing opinions on small forward tonight. At the top, Giannis Antetokounmpo is very interesting. Yes, his price is high, but the match-up is great and his ownership won't be higher than 25%. You can play him, but the optimizer is suggesting we look elsewhere. The Philadelphia 76ers rank 27th in the league against small forwards and I don't think the addition of Butler will do anything to the 3. T.J. Warren has been on fire lately an has played 36+ minutes in five straight games. His price remains under $7k on both sites and I don't think there is much downside to this play. Warren is safe for 30+ at a position without much safety.

Juan Hernangomez FD - $5500 DK - $4800
Opponent - MIL
Proj Pts FD - 23.89 DK - 24.52

Hernangomez is still just too cheap to ignore. He's played 30 minutes in four straight contests and has eclipsed 35 fantasy points in each of the last two. We can all admit this match-up with Milwaukee isn't great, but Hernangomez is a weird player in general and I don't think he fits into the stereotypical SF role. He plays down low a lot more and will stretch the floor if given the opportunity. He plays a lot more like a PF and has played half of his minutes there. The game is expected to stay close and holds the highest total on the night at 229. Hernangomez is a phenomenal play in all formats and will be in 100% of my DraftKings lineups.

Paul George FD - $10000 DK - $10400
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 42.85 DK - 43.77

You can't ignore what Paul George has been doing recently. With Russell Westbrook out, George is playing 35 minutes or more every single night and has been on fire. Over the course of the past 5 games, he's been over 60 in three of them. His price is getting up there, but 60 fantasy points is great no matter the price. The Kings play at a top 5 PACE and rank 20th against opposing small forwards. If you're able to pay up at the position, I like George a lot more than Giannis. He gives you nearly $2k in savings and has a similar scoring expectation. George is a great option in both cash games and tournaments.

Power Forward

Tobias Harris FD - $8000 DK - $7800
Opponent - ATL
Proj Pts FD - 37.27 DK - 38.24

Is there ever a bad night to play Tobias Harris? On this Clippers team , outside of the league's superstars, he has been arguably the most consistent player in basketball. He's playing 35 minutes on most nights and is sitting between 30 and 40 fantasy points nightly. He now sees a match-up with the Hawks, who rank dead last against power forwards. Harris is going to dominate in this game and his price still hasn't eclipsed $8k on either site. Harris is one of the safest plays on the slate and can be deployed in all formats. You won't find any rosters of mine without Tobias.

Paul Millsap FD - $5900 DK - $6100
Opponent - MIL
Proj Pts FD - 30.97 DK - 30.84

Millsa is extremely cheap across the entire industry. He also has one of the weirdest sets of box scores I've ever seen. Over the last four games, Millsap has put up 50 twice and 17 twice. Those 54 fantasy points came in 24 minutes. Millsap obviously still has the ability, but it struggling and has seen his minutes fall in return. He can still be counted on for 25 minutes and this match-up with the Bucks is great. He's far from reliable, but the price drop gives you a lot of room to work in tournaments. At his price, it's rare to find a guy with legitimate 50 point upside. Power forward is a fun spot and Millsap adds to the intrigue. I personally like Harris and Grant a tad bit more, but will have Millsap scattered through my tourneys.

Jerami Grant FD - $5400 DK - $4900
Opponent - SAC
Proj Pts FD - 26.39 DK - 25.76

If you couldn't tell, I like a lot of these Thunder without Westbrook. They are meshing well and have good chemistry through the starting lineup and bench. This is a game that will be up in pace and have a ton of peripherals to grab. Grant lives in the open floor and has a ton of upside in this type of game. His price hasn't risen, even though he's now seeing 30 minutes on a consistent basis. He doesn't typically dip below 20 fantasy points and those games are all slow pace. Grant is going to play extremely well against this Kings team and is one of my favorite plays on the slate. I will personally have close to 100% Jerami Grant. I just think he matches up perfectly with this squad.

Center

Joel Embiid FD - $11500 DK - $11100
Opponent - PHO
Proj Pts FD - 54.88 DK - 56.54

Embiid entered last game as questionable and ended with 40 minutes on the floor. He put up 55 fantasy points and looked better than ever. I guess his swollen hand was alright. His price is now well over $11k on both sites, so you're not getting any discount. The Sixers face off with the Suns tonight, giving Embiid the 28th ranked defense against centers. He's getting fed the ball on every possession and looked great playing next to Jimmy Butler. He's going to eat on Ayton and the Sixers have shown their willingness to play him huge minutes on a consistent basis. This game is going to be high-scoring and I expect Embiid to be the highest scoring player in the game. Let's look at a solid alternative if you don't want to spend close to $12k.

Andre Drummond FD - $10000 DK - $9700
Opponent - CLE
Proj Pts FD - 51.24 DK - 51.5

Andre Drummond is just a bully. He's the best rebounder in basketball and is facing off with a Bulls squad that doesn't have any rebounding. Tristan Thompson is going to get destroyed all game long and I think it's safe to expect 15/15 out of Drummond. His price is as high as you'll see, but it's for good reason. He's dominating in good match-ups and can't be stopped when given the opportunity. Cleveland is a terrible interior and I expect Drummond to be all over the glass from buzzer to buzzer. I like Drummond a bit more than Embiid, but only because of the price. When Drummond is on his game, there isn't much of a difference between the two. Embiid is just a lot more consistent.

Mike Muscala FD - $3900 DK - $3900
Opponent - PHO
Proj Pts FD - 26.51 DK - 26.73

If you want to go the opposite way, there is a savings option at the position. Mike Muscala has played 30 minutes in each of the last two games and has reached 20 fantasy points in three of the last four. He is under $4k on both sites, so 20 is perfectly fine in cash games. The Suns rank 27th against centers and Muscala will have success when on the floor. Good luck tonight and feel free to comment down below with any questions!

  • Tristan Thompson has been really good lately... But I like Drummond too. Just don't see it as a sure fire cash game play. Do you like Jokic against the Bucks?
