Daily Fantasy NFL GPP Leverage Plays for FanDuel and DraftKings - Week 5

The 2020 NFL season is now in full swing and the DFSR team has covered in every area. Earlier in the week, we covered Cash Game Plays, our Top Bets, and looked at Injury Report.

Now let's take a look at a few possible low owned GPP plays based on some of the industry buzz and ownership projections. Keep in mind, these are not safe plays and are generally very boom or bust. Roster accordingly.

Kyler Murray FD 8300 DK 7200

Jamison Crowder FD 6300 DK 5800
Opponent ARI

The quarterback position is very interesting this week in terms of ownership with Kyle Allen starting and just $4,100 on DraftKings. We saw this play out last season in Week 3 when he was the same price against Arizona and put up four touchdowns and nearly a 10x return. Then there is Teddy Bridgewater who will take on some ownership coming off a monster week and he is still cheap on both sites. Finally, in the top tier, we have Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson who will be chalky with excellent matchups.

In terms of pricing, Kyler Murray sits right in the middle of Prescott and Watson on both sites which has me thinking he will be much lower owned. If that is the case, I am even higher on Murray than I was earlier in the week as he has been elite topping 24 fantasy points and returning at least 3.4x value on DraftKings in each of the Cards four games. The Jets present a tougher matchup as they rank 8th in fantasy points per game given up to QB's but have early only faced one QB in Josh Allen who did run for 57 yards and a TD. That is where Kyler's upside lies and he also has arguably the best wideout in the game lining up on the outside.

To capitalize on the upside in a game, I like pairing my core stack with a pass-catching option on the other side in hopes the game is a shootout. Early on in the season, there has been a high % of GPP-winning lineups constructed around games stacks, so I will be including some of these options going forward. This brings me to Jamison Crowder of the Jets who has controlled the target share when he plays. In week one, he caught 7 of 13 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown against a tough Bills defense and after missing weeks 2 and 3, he returned to catch 7 of 10 targets for 104 yards against the Broncos. This week

What I like most about this entire matchup, outside the projected low ownership, is the fact both teams rank inside the Top 10 in pace this season which should lead to a ton of opportunity.

James Conner FD 7000 DK 6900
Opponent PHI
Proj Points FD - 18.24 DK - 19.88

We have a very similar situation at running back this week with Ezekiel Elliott, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, James Robinson, and Kareem Hunt all in plus matchups and likely chalk. This opens up a huge pivot opportunity with James Conner who could easily be sub 10% in GPP contests this week.

He got hurt in the 2nd quarter in week one but returned to a bell-cow role in week's two and three out-snapping Benny Snell 103-25. He returned excellent value in both those games, as well, rushing for 100+ and a touchdown in each. The matchup isn't great against the Eagles who rank 12th in rushing yards against and 13th in fantasy points to RB's but the Steelers are seven-point home favorites and should control this game with Conner getting another 20+ touches and a huge opportunity to crush value at a low ownership.
