Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $9800 DK - $10500Opponent - MINProj Pts FD - 52.99 DK - 55.79 After sitting out on Saturday because of ankle soreness, Doncic has been cleared to play on Monday well in advance of the game. That means we can project him at basically 100% health he should be the big-money play on this slate. He came out of the gate post-All Star Break with a 33 point, 10 rebound, eight assist line against the Magic and now gets a Timberwolves team that’s incredibly compromised on defense after their trade deadline moves. Even with some moderate blowout risk, the floor on Doncic is almost too high to fade on this slate considering some of the cheaper value elsewhere. Kendrick Nunn FD - $4700 DK - $5600Opponent - CLEProj Pts FD - 27.09 DK - 27.69 Jimmy Butler has already been ruled out for Monday, leaving another chance to run out Kendrick Nunn in cash games. Nunn put up a huge line on Saturday against the Cavaliers with 24 points and eight assists in 35 minutes. The Heat will play matchups as much as any team in the league, meaning Butler being out isn’t a 1:1 certainty that Nunn sees all of those minutes, but two of the last three games Butler has sat Kendrick has played 33+ minutes. Considering this is a home-and-home against these very same Cavaliers, setting Nunn in a similar minutes range is perfectly acceptable. I suspect he’s a popular play. With Ben Simmons out for the 76ers, there are some point guard minutes up for grabs. When he sat two games ago, Raul Neto (FD $3500 DK $3800) got the start. But last game, when Simmons went down Shake Milton (FD $4400 DK $3600) early seemed to get the nod. This is a situation to keep an eye out for leading into lock as I’d tend to default to whoever is starting. Shooting Guard Josh Richardson FD - $5100 DK - $4800Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 31.13 DK - 31.12 Alec Burks FD - $4000 DK - $4900Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 35.03 DK - 35.81 The Sixers come...

Daily Fantasy NBA – Best (and Worst) DraftKings Performances

Posted by on Feb 19, 2018 in Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineups, Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks, featured, News | 2 comments

Daily Fantasy NBA - Best (and Worst) DraftKings Performances of the First Half 2/19/18 With All-Star Weekend in the books, we can take a few moments and look back at some of the highlights (and lowlights) from the first half of the season. There were some truly amazing fantasy performances both in terms of raw points as well as efficiency. Best Overall Games James Harden Opponent Magic 1/30/18 102 DraftKings Points Demarcus Cousins Opponent Bulls 1/22/18 102 DraftKings Points Both of these games were, of course, monsters though Harden gets a little more credit only because he needed five fewer minutes to put up the 102 DraftKings points. Without a resting Chris Paul Harden went bananas on the Magic to the tune of 60 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, four steals and a block. Amazingly, he actually shot below his normal rate from three going “only” 5-14, but he made up for it in volume shooting (30 total attempts) and going 17-18 from the line. Just three games before his Achilles tear that ended his season, Cousins played 52 minutes in a double-overtime win over the Bulls. His line was a whopping 44 points, 23 rebounds, 10 assists, four steals and a block. Surprisingly, Anthony Davis also played in this game but fouled out a couple of minutes into the first overtime.   Best DraftKings Points Per Dollar Performances Criteria - needed to score more than 40 DraftKings points in a game. Delon Wright Opponent Bulls 1/3/18 DraftKings Points - 61.25 Salary - $3700 You would think this kind of performance from Wright would come with Kyle Lowry, or maybe Demar Derozan sitting, but that wasn’t the case. The Raptors played a lot of three-guard sets and Wright needed only 30 minutes to go for 25 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block. He went 10-15 from the field and 4-5 from beyond the arc. At only $3700 on DraftKings, he made for the best bargain of the season. Alec Burks Opponent Clippers 11/30/17 DraftKings Points - 53.25 Salary $3600 Not as impressive as Wright’s game, but still the second-best value on the season. Like Wright, Burks came off the bench with Rodney Hood and Raul Neto both injured, leading the second unit and shooting lights out with 28 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block. He went 11-17 from the field and 4-6 from three.   Best DraftKings Points Per Minute Performances Criteria - More than 25 DraftKings Points Joel Embiid Opponent - Lakers 11/15/17 DraftKings Points - 90.75, 34 Minutes The Lakers had no answer for Embiid in this game and it took him only 34 minutes to put up 46...

Rapid Reaction: The New-Look Cavaliers Might Just Have a Defense

Posted by on Feb 12, 2018 in Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineups, Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks, featured, News | 0 comments

Rapid Reaction: The New Look Cavaliers Much was (and will be) made of the Cavaliers’ big win over the Celtics on Sunday. It was our first look at their revamped team, overhauled at the trade deadline to reinvigorate the core group with some youth and athleticism (two things they greatly lacked at noon last Thursday). And of course after one game there’s quite a bit of room for optimism. They looked fantastic: energized and spry on both ends of the court, even surviving a mini-scare in the first quarter when Lebron limped off the court unable to put weight on this right leg. But he came back and the Cavaliers used a second and third quarter blitz of shooting to turn the game into a blowout. We don’t want to go overboard, they aren’t going to shoot 53% from three going forward. And the Celtics aren’t going to shoot 26% from beyond the arc either. As much as anything else, this was the story of the game. Regress those numbers even a little toward full season expectations and we have a much, much closer game. So let’s not get too carried away with just one win. What is encouraging beyond just the lights out shooting, was how the new players gelled quickly playing with Lebron and the rest of the non-jettisoned Cavs. They showed significantly increased intensity on defense, and spaced the floor well on the offensive end allowing for plenty of wide open looks. But the defense was their main issue going into the trade deadline. They ranked 28th in the league and were looking like a leaky sieve. Here are a few examples of what the news guys brought to the table for Cleveland, specifically on the defensive end. They all come from the third quarter when the Cavs jumped out to their biggest lead.   Perimeter Guard Defense One of the biggest issues Cleveland had with Thomas on the court was their perimeter defense left a lot to be desired (read: it was awful). They brought Hill in to solve some of those issues and here he starts to show why. He fights through the screen, doesn’t get all the way home and then recovers into the passing lane enough to negate a Morris wide open three. Hill then provides just enough resistance on the mismatch to force a weaker fadeaway.   Lebron - Free Safety Lebron is in free safety mode which can only happen when he trusts the perimeter D and is confident he can close out on Morris before getting that elbow look. Kyrie gets it out of the trap and JR is stuck with Horford, but Lebron jumps the lane to avoid...
