Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/1/16 Welcome to March! I'm writing these picks as of 9 PM EST on the previous night, and I dare say everything is going terrific in the world of DFSR daily fantasy basketball! All of that could change on a dime, of course, but that's why we love DFS. Tonight's very interesting. We have 3 awful defenses (LAL, BKN, PHO), and a total lack of big money stars outside of Steph Curry. Given that it's been the year of stars and scrubs, I'm sort of curious as to how optimal lineups will shake out. Let's dive into the night and see what's coming together. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. While the seasons overlap, you'll get access to our tools for the NBA and NHL (and MLB when the time comes)! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! First time with NBA? Be sure to read our free NBA Ebook on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! We've also launched a Stats and Research Page, which includes a lot of the individual statistics that we use to make our projections. It's free! Enjoy, POINT GUARD Goran Dragic - FD 6300 DK 6500 Opponent - CHI FD Proj. Pts - 28.88 DK Proj. Pts - 30.41 The arrival of Joe Johnson in Miami has muddied the waters to some degree, but you have to realize - the Heat played a playoff-esque 8 man rotation in his debut. Dragic played 33 minutes in that game, in spite of it being a blowout. He sure looks safe from where I'm standing. Goran's been on a tear since the All-Star break, topping 40 fantasy points in 3 games while paying no less than 4x points per dollar in any of them. And this is a terrific match-up with the Bulls. They've allowed the 5th most fantasy points per game to opposing point guards this season, and they'll feature either an out of position E'Twaun Moore or a hobbled Derrick Rose. Dragic seems like the safest points per dollar guy on the board. Donald Sloan - FD...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/29/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 2/29/16 Leap day is here! Full disclosure, I am a big detractor of February 29th. Let's dive in as to why. 1) I was born on February 28th. When you're born on February 28th, a startling number of people think that's actually leap day. Another startling percentage will make a joke like, "If you were born 1 day later, you'd be like 9 years old right now!!!" No, jerk, I'd be the same age. My birthday would just be March 1st, since I wasn't born in a leap year. 2) It grates against my need for elegant solutions. As a mathy person, I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how things fit together, just so. Meanwhile, we have a calendar that has a number of months with 30 days, a number with 31, and one with 28. Except for sometimes, when it has 29. It just feels like someone gave up along the way to a better solution, not worrying that people like me would have to deal with a lifetime of bad jokes. Where were we? Ah yes, basketball. Basketball being played today. I have thoughts on which players you should play in daily fantasy basketball. Here they are. If you want to grab a free trial of the winning projections that inform each and every one of these picks, check out our NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. Enjoy, POINT GUARD Russell Westbrook - FD 11000 DK 11100 Opponent - SAC FD Proj. Pts - 53.76 DK Proj. Pts - 55.68 To the surprise of absolutely no one, I'm sure. Westbrook is one of the most consistent big money fantasy players we've seen, and the Kings are a wreck on defense. They've allowed the 5th most fantasy points per...

Sick deal.   Point Guards Langston Galloway - FD 4800 DK 4300 DFSTR 4800 Langsanity cooled off just a tad last game against the Magic. But just a tad. He still saw 32 minutes and his price hasn’t come close to catching up with his opportunity. It doesn’t look like Calderon will be back for this one, though to be honest, I’d probably play Galloway even if Jose was around. It’s really just the difference of him playing the one or the two. He is seeing big minutes at very cheap prices. He’s putting up double digit shots per game whether Melo is there or not (a good sign) and should see plenty of run in this one. Update: The Knicks/Kings game has been postponed Mo Williams - FD 5800 DK 6000 DFSTR 5500 After a three game stretch of just horrible shooting, Mo got off the schnide last night against the Hawks with a 20/7/6 line that more than paid the day. He’s a solid option tonight again against the Thunder though there is of course some blowout risk. If the game even stays a semblance of close, Mo is locked into big minutes at the point. His price is still low thanks to that shooting rough patch and I think you can rather safely buy him here. Dante Exum - FD 3700 DK 3500 DFSTR 3000 Still coming in at close to the minimums for a dude running the point for the Jazz. He’s seen a nice minutes increase thanks to the new starting gig and the Jazz have been running sets with both he and Burke on the court at the same time. Exum has been steadily paying these prices since his promotion and with the amount of run he’s getting I’d say he’s a safer cash game play. The pace of play in Boston makes it even more enticing as he should see a volume increase. I think he’s a bit safer than Williams relative to price, though probably doesn’t have the same upside. Russell Westbrook - FD 10700 DK 10300 DFSTR 8000 If you want to spend up here tonight, Russell is...

And now - for the next month - you can get access to our Football projection tools AND our baskeball projection tools for the same price! Sick deal.   Point Guards Damian Lillard - FD 9000 DK 9400 DFSTR 7500 He’s the big money play of the day and for me it isn’t really that close as long as Aldridge is still out. They were almost run out of the gym early last night, but crawled back into it against Phoenix. And the Celtics aren’t the Suns. Lillard’s usage rate is off the charts when the big guy sits and Lillard is pretty much options 1 and 1A in terms of the Blazers scoring. They have other guys you can play of course, but Lillard should be a staple in your games. The Celtics play at a fast pace and will allow a fair amount of volume to opposing point guards who score about 6% more than league average against them. This is an easy one. Derrick Rose - FD 7200 DK 7300 DFSTR 6200 He’s been picking up his game of late and went through a nice stretch where it really looked like he was finding his groove in the offense. The price has come up a bit of late and the matchup against the Spurs isn’t exactly ideal, but on this slate there aren’t many other point guard values (relative to price) that I’m in love with. Tony Parker - FD 5700 DK 5800 DFSTR 5500 I suspect he will be a big start because the price is cheap and he had a huge game on Tuesday. I’m a little worried about the minutes getting jacked around as the 32 he saw the other night are the exception not the norm for him. But there’s no denying the price is enticing here.   Shooting Guards Wesley Matthews - FD 5700 DK 5700 DFSTR 5000 As it was last night, this pick looks a hell of a lot better if Aldridge sits again (as I suspect he will). I’d be fine playing Matthews even if Aldridge were in there, but dude looks even better if a bunch of Blazer shots are suddenly gone from the lineup. Boston has been solid this season against shooting guards thanks in part to Avery Bradley, but...

Sick deal.   Point Guards Damian Lillard - FD 9000 DK 9500 DFSTR 7500 Our system doesn’t love him here, but it hasn’t fully grasped that Aldridge is out tonight. When Aldridge is on the court Lillard’s usage rate is about 24. When the big guy is gone? Damien’s rate goes up to a whopping 36. In what should be a high volume game against the run and gun Suns, Lillard could put up a million shots. His price tag is high but I still think you are getting the money in safer considering the circumstances. Langston Galloway - FD 4000 DK 3600 DFSTR 3500 How many people in the world, Galloway included, would have thought about three weeks ago that this guy would be near the top of the list of value plays on a given DFS day? Zero? That’d be my guess. But here’s the thing: he started at the two last game against the Pelicans, played more than thirty minutes and 21/5/3. That’s a healthy line and is impressive because he was able to get up 14 shots in a game where Melo also played. I think he sticks in the starting rotation for now and has a great matchup against Philly. His prices are still low across the industry and this is a price + opportunity situation we love. John Wall - FD 8600 DK 9200 DFSTR 7800 Wall’s been struggling (fantasy-wise) a little of late and has seen his price really come down in the short term. This is a fantastic time to buy the guy even in the matchup against OKC. While they are about league average in allowing scoring and assists to points guards, playing Wall here is mostly about the price. With such a big slate, you’ll be able to work multiple expensive pieces into your lineups. The value is there on Wall and his sick passing. Mo Williams - FD 6100 DK 6200 DFSTR 5200 A rough game against Charlotte on Monday shouldn’t have you worried about buying Mo in this spot. He’s locked into big minutes at the point (as long as Rubio is out, which you’ll...
