And now - for the next month - you can get access to our basketball projection tools! Sick deal. This is a totally brutal slate. You have the Spurs and Nuggets who jack their guys minutes around like crazy (albeit for different reasons), the Thunder who have two top end guys and a bunch of spare parts, and the Heat who don't have much that you feel safe playing. If you were ever going to take a night off, this might be the one to do it.   Top Plays Russell Westbrook - FD 10600 DK 10200 DFSTR 8300 If I had to take just one big money player today it would be Westbrook. And yes, I know when I am saying that I am essentially choosing between him and Durant. It's not easy to choose of course. And I didn't want to just give you both guys because that would be too easy. Our system has Westbrook as a clear points/$ favorite over KD. Miami has been torched by point guards this season in the scoring department with opponents scoring at 5% more than league average from the position. Westbrook is of course other-worldly and should be able to dust whoever the Heat put on him. Meanwhile, Miami and Deng have been above average against small forwards. I get that this isn't always a perfect way to determine value as dudes like Durant and Westbrook are much more than just static position players. But I do think Westbrook has the better part of the matchup and there are other small forward options whereas point guard is very thin. Tim Duncan - FD 8200 DK 8500 DFSTR 8000 It's always weird getting bigger money in on a guy like Duncan considering the Spurs' tendency to just sit their starters or play them reduced minutes. But on the short slate I think I can make the case for Duncan here. For starters, this is a one and done for the Spurs. Their big minutes question marks come on back-to-backs. I think Duncan plays his thirty minutes. And if that is the case then he is getting run against a Denver team that allows worse than average...

And now - for the next month - you can get access to our basketball projection tools! Sick deal. This is an enormous, full day slate with a ton of considerations. I'm going to highlight some of the premium plays and then guys you can consider along the way. Point Guard Goran Dragic - FD 7000 DK 6800 DFSTR 5600 Isaiah Thomas - FD 5200 DK 5000 DFSTR 5600 Any time a team is playing the Lakers you need to consider anyone from that team tasked with dribbling the ball over the half court line. In this case Dragic and Thomas fit the bill and make for sensational points/ $ plays across the board. Thomas is of course more of a GPP play if he were to see more run in a blowout. But Dragic is a great deal considering the Lakers allow 25% more scoring than league average and 17% more assists to opposing point guards. If even if those numbers are insanely noisy, they're still significantly worse than anyone else in the league. I'm consistently targeting this position against LA. Brian Roberts - FD 3500 DK 4200 He was a per minute disaster the other night in getting the start for Kemba Walker. It wasn't pretty. But it looks like Kemba will sit again and I'm going back to Roberts. The minutes were there and the Hornets don't have anyone else to turn to. He's still a minimum-priced player who should see 30 minutes. That's all you know and if I get the word that Walker is definitely out again I won't hesitate to play Roberts again. Mo Williams - FD 6300 DK 6300 His price has climbed thanks to some higher ownership nights as well as one epic performance. He is wasn't great against Denver the other night, but he's still playing insane minutes for Minny and has a nice matchup against Brian Roberts and a weaker Charlotte squad. The scoring can be there on the right nights and he's dishing out enough assists the keep the floor higher. He's still a value even with the price climb. John Wall - FD 8700 DK 9300 While the Sixers have actually done an...

And now - for the next month - you can get access to our Football projection tools AND our baskeball projection tools for the same price! Sick deal. It’s an odd day in the NBA as there is the early, 3:30 game between the Knicks and the Bucks in London and then two games in the evening. This will be an abbreviated picks column because of it. The early slate has me worried on sites like FanDuel that don’t allow late swaps (it’s an eternity between the early game and evening slate). I’ll focus mainly on the evening games as I think those are a little easier to break down, but will give a couple of quick thoughts on the Knicks and Bucks guys as well.   Early Game The Knicks are an utter mess right now and there rotations make it a little tough to find value. That’s mostly because they consistently get blown out and subsequently the minutes are all over the place. Combine that with not knowing if Carmelo is going to play (or how much) and you have a total mess. If playing the early slate I would consider Cole Aldrich. But beyond that it’s really buyer beware. There will certainly be some guys who hit value for them (they are all so cheap because again, they suck) but parsing it out ahead of time is super dicey. On the Bucks’ side, we have some of the same uncertainty but for a slightly different reasons. Jason Kidd yanks around minutes like crazy, making the “safety” on some guys anything but implied. I would definitely consider Zaza Pachulia and Giannis Antetokounmpo but the minutes have dipped in the short term. Khris Middleton is intriguing but again, the run isn’t locked in. This is all mostly to say that this early slate feels like a total stay away for me. Great freerolls for miles over at Scorestreak, by the way. Get involved today by clicking the banner below! And they have a great offer: refer a friend, have them play $25 worth of games and get a $25 Amazon gift card.   Evening Slate Big Money Fair warning: This slate isn’t exactly the most ripe with value. This is for a couple of reasons. One is that you are going to...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Draftster 1/14/14 The NBA is in full swing and you’re here to get the best value plays in the industry. Enjoy! And now - for the next month - you can get access to our Football projection tools AND our baskeball projection tools for the same price! Sick deal.   Point Guard Kyle Lowry - FD 9600 DK 10100 DFSTR 7900 Still going to be another game without Derozan and that’s always fantastic news for Lowry. The only real question on him isn’t the production, but rather the price. His price is way up there because he’s been the go-to guy for the Raptors for quite some time now. He gets a solid matchup with the Sixers of course, but this game could turn ugly quick. Factor that in, but in terms of raw projected points, Lowry is your man. Jeff Teague - FD 8300 DK 8500 DFSTR 6900 He rested last night, which was unfortunate as we were scrambling a bit to get in Dennis Schroeder in. But it wasn’t injury related and Teague has been a veritable monster in the short term. The Celtics haven’t been fantastic against point guards this season though some of that could be contributed to Rondo earlier in the season. Michael Carter-Williams - FD 8200 DK 8500 DFSTR 7500 His price has dropped in the short term because of some real bad performances. He’s had some truly horrific shooting games and his minutes took a little dip. But I like where the price has come to and even with a tougher matchup against Lowry, think you couldl separation with this type of play tonight. Monitor the Jrue Holiday situation as it could send some ripples down the Pelican lineup if he were to sit again. Also strongly consider Marcus Smart who seems rather locked in to 30 minutes a night.   Shooting Guard Monta Ellis - FD 7500 DK 7300 DFSTR 8300 Going back to the well tonight with Ellis against Denver. Shooting guards have been a problem for the Nuggets this season as they are scoring close to 10% more points than league average against Denver. Ellis is in a solid situation here and even though he’s ball dominant, the points have still generally been there with Rondo around. Plus the price has dipped a little in the short term making him a solid value play at the position tonight. Joe Johnson - FD 6600 DK...

And now - for the next month - you can get access to our Football projection tools AND our basketball projection tools for the same price! Sick deal.   Point Guard C.J. Watson - FD 4300 DK 4800 DFSTR 4300 A minutes and opportunity thing and basically nothing more. Watson is far from a great point guard of course. But he has the important thing going for him: minutes. With George Hill still out Watson is seeing more than thirty minutes a night and is coming in a very reasonable/ punt prices. The T-Wolves are allowing 10% more scoring than league average to point guards. Watson can score of course and I think you are getting very safe money in with him tonight. Mo Williams - FD 5500 DK 5400 DFSTR 4800 On the other side of the ball, this game is all about the cheap point guards. When Williams is playing of late, he is the clear point and getting more than thirty minutes. The Pacers have actually not defended the point guard position well this season which isn't surprising considering they've been without Hill (and a lot of other guys) for a better part of the season. Jeff Teague - FD 8300 DK 8500 DFSTR 6900 If you want to spend up a little Teague makes a fantastic play as well. He's been remarkably consistent with big time fantasy production of late and that should continue tonight against the Sixers. It should be said that Philly has allowed better than league average scoring to opposing point guards, but the pace of this one should be more than enough to give Teague a higher floor. Consider Tony Wroten. Also Kyrie Irving gets an obvious bump if Lebron sits again. Shooting Guard Kyle Korver - FD 5200 DK 5000 DFSTR 5100 Because of the price, minutes and matchup, Korver will undoubtedly be a high percentage start in the industry tonight. I honestly don't think he's the safest play in the whole world simply because he's prone to some rougher shooting nights and when the three isn't dropping he has a tough time paying. But as I said with Teague (and some other Hawks as you...
