It's that foundation that led him to a very consistent second half of the season where he finished with 12 straight made cuts from May until August. He now returns to CC of Jackson with a nice track record making the cut in three of his last four attempts with finishes of T30, T26, and T14. Checking almost every box, Jaeger is easily one of my top plays this week. Sam Ryder World Golf Ranking (#112) Vegas Odds (50/1) DraftKings ($8,500) FanDuel ($10,400) While Ryder doesn't check all the boxes thanks to some sub-par course history, it is impossible to ignore his form coming in this time around. He finished T14 at the season-opening Fortinet Championship(ranked 3rd in SG: T2G), has made four straight cuts going back to the 3M Open and more importantly has gained four or more strokes on approach in five straight shotlink events. In keeping with the trend of improving his success here year over year, I look for Ryder to use his red-hot irons to carry him to a career-best finish and possibly contend for a win. Garrick Higgo World Golf Ranking (#157) Vegas Odds (50/1) DraftKings ($8,100) FanDuel ($11,100) Higgo returns to CC of Jackson after an impressive T3 here last year which also ended up being his top finish of...

The Course Country Club of Jackson Par 72 - 7,461 Yards Greens - Bermuda **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Previous Five Winners 2020 - Sergio Garcia(-19) 2019 - Sebastian Munoz(-18) 2018 - Cameron Champ(-21) 2017 - Ryan Armour(-19) 2016 - Cody Gribble(-20) After a dominating performance from Team USA(19-9) at the Ryder Cup, the PGA Tour Fall Season continues with a trip to the Country Club of Jackson for the Sanderson Farms Championship. The field is led by the reigning champ, Sergio Garcia, who is among the leaders on the odds board in a weaker field with just one Top 25 player in the world(Sam Burns). This will be the eighth year with the Par 72 Country Club of Jackson hosting this event. It is a longer course, listed at 7,461 yards on the scorecard but hasn't stopped it from being a birdie fest. The winning score has fallen between -16 and -21 in the first seven trips to the course and has only ranked inside the Top 25 hardest courses once in that time. From a stats model perspective, the first thing I am looking at is Strokes Gained: Ball Striking. When breaking that down further, I am leaning on about 70% Strokes Gained: Approach and 30% Strokes Gained: Off the Tee in my model. With shorter rough(2") than the PGA Tour average, it is more of a grip and rip off the tee so I am also giving Driving Distance a boost, as well. On approach, as I say weekly, depends on the player(s) you are targeting. Looking at a group of players who are long off the tee? Concentrate on short to mid-iron proximity ranges. Opposite for guys who are shorter off the tee. Focus on those long-iron ranges. With more low-scoring expected, Birdie or Better...

The PGA Tour fall season continues this week with a trip to the Country Club of Jackson for the Sanderson Farms Championship. This event has been played here at this venue since the 2014-15 season when Nick Taylor hoisted the hardware with a winning score of -16. While the field is stronger than last week's event, we still only get four players(Im, Scheffler, Reavie, Stenson) ranked inside the Top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings. This once again presents a challenge as we will be rostering golfers whose price tags are much higher than we normally see. My advice for handling this type of situation would be to remove the name and concentrate on the data to make a decision rather than using biases that we develop throughout the season. Speaking of the data, this week I am looking at a combination of stats, course history, and of course form. For the stats, the course is fairly straight forward and while the average fairways hit sits just above 55%, the rough is not penal so we can look for the big hitters to let it rip(see Cam Champ in 2018). The biggest thing I am looking at this week is a combination of Strokes Gained: Approach and Birdie or Better %. Breaking that down a bit further, I am looking at Proximity as the greens are fairly easy to hit here(avg 70% GIR last 5 years) and for birdie potential, I like looking at Opportunities gained from Fantasy National Golf Club. With all that said, let's get into some core plays in each price range. The Course TPC Southwind Par 70...

Sanderson Farms Championship The fall season continues with a trip to the Country Club of Jackson for the Sanderson Farms Championship. While the field is a bit stronger than last year when the event was played a month later, it is still a weak-field event(average 471 OWGR) and has seen more than one long shot winner. The course is a Par 72 setup that stretches over 7,400 yards and has ranked just outside the Top 20 in difficulty in each of the last two years. While the fairways hit % is lower than average here, the rough is not very challenging(about 2" on average) which puts a ton of importance on the iron game. This shows in the stats as well as Strokes Gained: Approach has been a major factor in players separating themselves here despite there being both bombers(Champ averaged 334 in 2018 win, Gribble averaged 312 in 2016 win) and plodders(Armour averaged 268 in 2017 win, Malnati averaged 271 in 2015 win) who have been successful here. With the driving accuracy number in the mid 50% range on average, I will also be looking at Rough Proximity in my model as well. You can see all my top stats below and in the model on the sheet, now let's get into the picks.
