Brief Summary:

A late-season ocean storm will affect the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast today. Here is what it looks like on radar this morning:

PHL, PIT  and NYM all have home games this PM so let's see a simulated radar looks like:

Above is the simulated radar for 3 PM, the scheduled time of 1st pitch in PHL while PIT and NYM has a scheduled 1st pitch time of 4 PM (shown below):

You can plainly see that rain will impact these games today but you can also see that they are not squarely in the solid rain shield that I look for that signifies a likely PPD. Thus, let's go MODERATE CHANCE OF A PPD/ANY TYPE OF DELAYS  FOR PIT AND PHL while NYM HAVE A LOW TO MODERATE CHANCE OF A PPD (GAME MAY START DRY) BUT RAIN WILL LIKELY IMPACT IT AT SOMETIME; MODERATE CHANCE OF AN IN-GAME DELAY

I will obviously keep a close eye on both of these games throughout the morning and afternoon.

The strange weather in California continues. A late season storm will be affecting the region and causing unusual weather for this time of year. NYY at OAK will see showers this afternoon while CHC at SF sees the threat of some showers tonight. THE CHANCE OF A PPD IS LOW BUT THE RISK OF AN IN-GAME DELAY IS HIGHER, LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE.

Simulated radar for 4 PM, the scheduled time of 1st pitch in OAK

And here is the simulated radar for scheduled 1st pitch in SF (~7 PM)

Nothing more than a few stray showers expected for TB at DET and SEA at CIN. EXTREMELY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD/LOW CHANCE OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S)

Here is a 4 PM simulated radar for DET:

CIN:

Good Hitting Environments:

- A nice wind blowing out to left and mild temperatures at Fenway may lead to some HRs for CLE at BOS.

-NYY at OAK will see unusual amount of moisture in the air plus a wind blowing out to right.

-TB at DET will experience mild temperatures and a breeze blowing out to right.

-CHC at SF will see a boost for balls hit to center while there is an unusual amount of moisture in the air.

-BLT at LAA will see a wind blowing out to right.

Poor Hitting Environments:

- ATL at PHL will see cool, damp conditions with a wind blowing in from right.

- Very cool and damp for COL at PIT.
