Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

(Hitter stats provided are vs. the handiness of the pitcher they are facing)

Chicago Cubs vs. Adam Morgan (PHI)

Adam Morgan has just been awful for the Phillies this year. He is entering today's contest sporting a 7.97 ERA that is backed up by a 5.34 FIP, o don't worry so much about the Cubs' price tag (they are definitely worth the investment) . Hitters also have a 36.7% hard contact rate against Morgan, so look for the Cubbies to hit him, and hit him hard!

On the year, the Cubs sport a .347 wOBA (4th in MLB), 117 wRC+ (4th in MLB) and .168 ISO (8th in MLB) against left-handed pitchers. They have been one of the best offenses in baseball and can put up runs in bunches, so they are always a great team to stack and today is no different. Some of the guys to stack against Morgan are: Dexter Fowler (.354 wOBA), Ben Zobrist (.440 wOBA), Kris Bryant (.288 ISO) and Javier Baez (.502 wOBA). Of course, you can go with Anthony Rizzo, Jason Heyward and Jorge Soler, but those are my top four guys to stack. You have to love the platoon advantage those four guys possess going up against Morgan and his 5.34 FIP.

Cleveland Indians vs. James Paxton (SEA)

I do think Paxton is a solid left-handed pitcher, but he is only making his second start of the season and will be going up against a tough Indians' lineup. In his first outing, he was roughed up by the Padres, and I'm expecting that trend to continue tonight. He still needs a few more starts to get adjusted to pitching in the big leagues again, so I will go ahead and stack the Indians, who will be throwing out a bunch of right-handed bats against Paxton. Some of the guys I am looking to stack are: Francisco Lindor (.404 wOBA), Mike Napoli (.372 wOBA), Jose Ramirez (.352 wOBA) and Rajai Davis (.324 wOBA).

Kansas City Royals vs Mike Wright (BAL)

Mike Wright is another guy that has struggled mightily this season, so I will go ahead and stack the Royals. Wright owns a 5.88 ERA that is backed up by a 5.26 FIP, and I don't see things getting better for the 26-year-old anytime soon. He also possesses a 1.69 HR/9, so look for the Royals to hit for some power in this contest. I know their lineup isn't as sexy as the Cubs' lineup, but they have a beautiful matchup and are more affordable. Some of the guys that I am looking to stack are: Eric Hosmer (.425 wOBA), Salvador Perez (.364 wOBA), Whit Merrifield (.337 wOBA) and Lorenzo Cain (.308 wOBA). These guys don't possess much power, but they are all capable of doing some damage. Don't sleep on the banged up Royals tonight.
