Daily Fantasy Baseball News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 7/29/16

Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!

Last night's picks can be fond here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today.

By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the batting lineup changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!

What We Know

Personnel

  • Dee Gordon returned to the lineup on Thursday night going hitless against the Cards
  • Jake Lamb returned as a pinch hitter Thursday and will most likely be back in the D Backs starting lineup Friday night
  • After being pulled on Wednesday for lazy play in the infield and while running the bases, Jonathan Villar should be back in the lineup Friday night but it will be something to monitor throughout the day. Be sure to check lineups as usual prior to lineup lock
  • Ryan Braun was scratched from the lineup on Thursday with right side tightness and is considered day to day. Don't look for the Brewers to push him as they are currently entertaining trade offers for the slugger
  • No word yet if Nelson Cruz will return to the lineup after sitting out Wednesday's game due to foot soreness. He fouled a ball off his foot on Tuesday and one would think he would be ok to go tonight. Monitor the M's lineup leading up to lock
  • Yoenis Cespedes is dealing with a flare up of a previous quad injury and sat out Thursday's game. He was available off the bench so it appears it is likely he will be back in the starting lineup tonight
  • Salvador Perez could sit out another game on Friday as he was scratched Thursday with a cold
  • Yangervis Solarte is currently not active as he went on the family emergency  leave list. No word on his return

The "Every Lineup" Guys

I wrote all about the hitters in the Main Article and Matz in the Pitcher Breakdown so for further analysis please go check those articles out if you haven't already.
Jose Abreu FD 2700 DK 4000
Opponent - MIN (Nolasco) Park - @MIN
FD - 11.52 DK - 8.83

Abreu is an every lineup guy over on FanDuel today as the price continues to stay under $3K despite him turning his season around. The power is still lacking but since the start of July he is slashing .325/.380/.410. Abreu is a terrific cash game option with a high floor going up against one of the weakest pitchers on the slate.

Steven Matz FD 9700 DK 8500
Opponent - COL (Chatwood) Park - @NYM
FD - 36.66 DK - 24.13

Looking at the DraftKings optimizer this morning you will notice that if you generate the max amount of lineups Matz shows up in every single one. It comes down to price and opportunity tonight. When you see a pitcher that is cheaper on DraftKings than FanDuel you better take note. Like I wrote about in the Pitcher Breakdown the Rockies struggle on the road ranking 29th in wOBA and wRC+ and K 5% more away from Coors. The Rockies also have the 2nd lowest team total(3.11) of any team on the slate. Pair Matz with Scherzer for a high upside pitching combination or pair him with another value option and load up on the bats tonight.

Strong Consideration on Both Sites - Bryce Harper
