Pitching Targets

Michael Fulmer FD 8400 DK 8900
Opponent - SEA (Iwakuma) Park - @SEA
FD - 29.98 DK - 20.12

We mentioned both Jose Fernandez and Michael Wacha in the picks article, and will now mention some guys that are in play in either cash games or tournaments. The first of which being Michael Fulmer. Fulmer has been quite impressive since entering the majors as evident by his sub .285 wOBA against both lefties and righties. Aside from his wOBA against, he has also sported a 30% hard contact rate and a 7.42 K/9. Fulmer and the Tigers will be taking on the Seattle Mariners, who have been decent against right handers. With a .331 wOBA and a 112 wRC+, they are not a team that is unstoppable against right handers. While Fulmer is not on the same level as Jose Fernandez and Michael Wacha, I will definitely have some exposure in tournaments.

Collin McHugh FD 8000 DK 6000
Opponent - MIN (Duffey) Park - @MIN
FD - 30.36 DK - 20.3

Collin McHugh is a very interesting pitcher as he is constantly changing his approach and goals on the mound. While he used to be a strikeout pitcher, he is now pitching to contact and going for a lot of weakly hit groundballs. That approach is very risky, especially against a team like the Twins, as he can give up a ton of home runs if he can't get his fastball down enough. That being said, he could also come out and locate his pitches which will end up in him having a very strong start. The Twins have been pretty average against righties over the course of this season and will likely remain that way for a while. While I am not a huge fan of McHugh in cash games, I think he makes a viable tournament option as he allows you to pay up at other positions with more upside.

Also consider - Julio Urias, Cole Hamels if you are extremely brave.
