Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings- 9/22/16

In case you didn’t notice, we just released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

You can grab a free 3 day trial to test out yourself.

A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Cleveland Indians vs. Jason Vargas (Royals)
Park - Progressive Field

The Cleveland Indians enter tonight as our top stacking options on the board, and Vegas agrees. The Indians are projected to score over 5 runs today, which is higher than any other team. They will be facing off with the Royals at home in the rather hitter friendly Progressive Field. The Royals will be trotting out Jason Vargas, a left handed veteran that has hit a wall over the past few seasons. While he hasn't pitched much, he has been absolutely horrible against righties over the past 2 seasons. The Indians have 2 huge bats against lefties in Rajai Davis and Mike Napoli. Both of those guys are extremely lethal against left handers and I would have them in every one of your Indians stacks. If the Indians go off, they will mire than likely be involved. However, I think you can mix and match a bunch after those 2. You can go lower in the order to Ramirez and Santana, or go for the top with Kipnis and Lindor. Either way, you have a great shot in tournament. I do see merit in using the sneaky stack as it will be lower owned in large field tournaments.

Main Stack - Rajai Davis, Jason Kipnis, Francisco Lindor, Mike Napoli
Sneaky Stack - Rajai Davis, Mike Napoli, Carlos Santana, Jose Ramirez

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chase Anderson (Brewers)
Park - Miller Park

Coming in 2nd on our list, you have the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates are a tough team to peg as they are very up and down in the run column and con go on homer-less streaks. That being said, they are going in to Miller Park, which is one of the best parks in the league for right handed power. They will be facing off with Chase Anderson, a young right hander that has reverse splits and is actually worse against righties than lefties. Since 2015, Anderson has sported a .27 worse wOBA against right handers and it is backed up with some string batted ball rates. The Pirates are in a terrific spot here and I actually expect them to be pretty low owned. They do not have many marquee names in the lineup and that will surely push people off of them. I do see a reason to use the sneaky stack. Both sides can go off one in the same, but the lower end of the order will be a lot less owned. I do prefer the stack on DraftKings, as the home run is way too strong on FanDuel for a Pirates stack.

Main Stack - Andrew McCutchen, Gregory Polanco, Josh Bell, Adam Frazier
Sneaky Stack - Andrew McCutchen, Gregory Polanco, Josh Bell, Jung-ho Kang

  • Stack against Pirates should be taken with caution as Anderson has beaten the Pirates both times this year (home and away) and did so giving up 2 and no runs in both starts, so not sure why I would stack the Pirates against these kind of stats.
