A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!

NFL News and Notes

  • Tom Brady (suspension) is back and ready to attack!
  • Julian Edelman (foot) was added to the injury report on Thursday and is questionable for Sunday. I'm not sure if it's anything serious, but we will monitor the situation closely and keep you updated.
  • Demaryius Thomas (hip) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice, but is expected to continue to play through the injury.
  • Andrew Luck (shoulder) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice, but no need to panic -- he'll be out there Sunday.
  • Trevor Siemian (shoulder) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice and is considered questionable for Sunday.
  • Jacob Tamme (hip) practiced in full on Thursday and will be out there this weekend.
  • Latavius Murray is battling through turf toe and is considered questionable for Sunday. If he is unable to suit up, look for the Raiders to use a running back by committee approach.
  • Kenny Britt (thigh) did not practice on Thursday and is considered questionable for Sunday.
  • Eric Decker (shoulder) doesn't want to rule himself out, just yet, but I don't expect him to play this week.
  • Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) will be out once again this week.
  • Devin Funches (foot) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice and it looks like he'll play Monday.
  • Cam Newton (concussion) is questionable for Monday. They are expected to know whether or not he'll be available by Saturday.
  • Rashad Jennings (thumb) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice, but is still questionable for Sunday. He will most likely end up being a game-time decision.
  • Arian Foster (hamstring) has practiced for two days straight and looks like he could play this week. We all know how hard it is to guess Foster's status, so look for him to be a game-time decision.
  • Eddie Royal (calf) was unable to practice Thursday and is questionable for Sunday. Kevin White has already been ruled out, so Alshon Jeffrey could have a very busy day.
  • Kyle Rudolph (ribs) returned to practice Thursday and will be out there Sunday.
  • Stefon Diggs (groin) was not able to practice Thursday and is questionable for Sunday.
  • Matt Forte (ribs) is expected to play on Sunday.
  • Charles Sims (knee) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice and is considered questionable for Monday. If he can't suit up, Jacquizz Rodgers will get the start.
  • LeGarrette Blount (hip) was not in Thursday's practice and is considered questionable for Sunday.
  • Antonio Gates (hamstring) was a limited participate in Thursday's practice and is hopeful to play on Sunday.
  • Eric Ebron (knee) will not play on Sunday.
  • Dez Bryant (knee) did not practice Thursday, and my guess is that he's out again this week. Look for Brice Butler to draw another start.
  • Larry Donnell (concussion) will not suit up on Sunday.
  • Frank Gore (chest) returned to practice Thursday and will play on Sunday.

Tournament Stack

Derek Carr, Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper (OAK) vs. SD

My top stack of the week includes: Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. This is kind of an obvious stack, but I love them too much this week to not tout them, so I'll go ahead and do just that.

With Latavius Murray battling turf toe, I see this Raiders' offense relying heavily on their passing game. Yes, it's always great to target QB's/WR's when there running back is down, but it's even better to target them when they are going against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. And guess what -- the Raiders are doing just that!

This Sunday, they'll be going up against the Chargers. Not only have they allowed 289.8 passing yards per game (27th in NFL), but they are also going to be without their top cover-corner, Jason Verret. I see this secondary having a very tough time taming Crabtree and Cooper, which is why I'm all over this Raiders' passing attack this weekend.
