Pitchers

Early Slate
John Lackey FD 8900 DK 8900
Opponent - PHI (Eflin) Park - @CHC
FD - 37.33 DK - 24.55

The Cubs are the second biggest favorite on the early slate today and with limited options due to rain outs that pushes Lackey way up the list. It has been a somewhat rough start to the season for Lackey who is sporting a 5.10 ERA and 2-3 record through one month. He is also at the top of my list of candidates due for regression as he is sporting an extremely high .3% HR/FB rate which is over 13% higher than his career average and he has also seen an increase in his hard contact rate so far. More good news is that his xFIP is running in the mid 3's and he has actually increased his K/9 rate slightly from last year and his career average. To make you feel just a little warmer inside about rostering Lackey, he gets a matchup vs. the Phillies at home in Wrigley with the wind currently blowing in over 20 mph. The Phillies rank 19th in wOBA(.315) and wRC+(92) vs. right-handed pitching and strike out just over 24% of the time. Lock Lackey into your lineups in all formats.
Main Slate

Adam Wainwright FD 8000 DK 7400
Opponent - MIL (Anderson) Park - @STL
FD - 34.16 DK - 22.37

On the five-game main slate, the options at starting pitcher are even more limited today which is likely going to make a couple pitchers ver chalky. On FanDuel, that option is going to be Zach Wheeler at just $7K but on DraftKings I will lean on Adam Wainwright tonight. He was supposed to pitch last night but the game was called off early in the day due to rain so here we are. We absolutely loved Waino last night and nothing changes going into Thursday night on a small slate. Much like Lackey, Waino is a veteran off to somewhat of a disappointing start with a 2-3 record and 6.12 ERA. Don't worry too much about him, however, as he has now won back to back starts and while he has allowed six earned runs, he struck out 13 batters while walking just one. The upside will most definitely be there again in this start as his opponent, the Brewers, are tied with the highest K rate(27.5%) in the league vs. right-handed pitching and rank 26th overall in wOBA over the last seven days. His price is also still low enough on both sites to be able to stack some top bats tonight.
