Pitchers

Alex Wood FD 8900 DK 9400
Opponent - MIA (Nicolino) Park - @LAD
FD - 34.97 DK - 22.85

From a PTS/$ perspective, Alex Wood is right up there with deGrom and Sale tonight due to his discount on both sites. The Dodgers are actually the biggest favorites(-230) on the entire slate making Wood a top target when looking at cash games and has the upside to crush it in GPP's as well. The biggest risk with Wood has been the pitch count he has been working with but the Dodgers have slowly worked him up it shouldn't be an issue any longer. He even got the reassurance of staying put in the rotation when Brandon McCarthy and Rich Hill return. Wood is coming off a very impressive start where he allowed just five hits and a walk in a six-inning start in Coors Field last week while striking out 10 batters. That is now back to back games with double-digit K's, bringing his strikeout rate up to 12.1 K/9 for the season. Tonight he faces a somewhat cold Marlins team who sits with a .282 wOBA and 71 wRC+ over the past seven days. Wood makes an excellent pivot on both sites which will greatly enhance the bats in your lineup.

Michael Wacha FD 8400 DK 7800
Opponent - SF (Moore) Park - @STL
FD - 29.56 DK - 19.48

If you are looking for another mid-range option to either pair with Sale or possibly implement a balanced pitching attack, Wacha fits in nicely on Friday. He has been incredibly consistent all year going at least six innings in every start and has even shown more upside than in the past with his 8.35 K/9 rate this season. He has given up four home runs on the season but has really limited the hard contact(23%) to his opponents which has helped him post a nice 3.19 ERA/3.62 xFIP which mirrors his most successful season back in 2015 where he went 17-7 for the Cardinals. Tonight he faces a Giants team that ranks second to last in total runs scored and dead last in wOBA and wRC+ vs. right-handed pitching. The upside is somewhat limited as the Giants strike out less than almost any team in baseball but with the limited offensive output, we should easily see another 6+ inning performance from Wacha, enough for him to hit value on both sites.
