Pitchers

Yu Darvish FD 9300 DK 11000
Opponent - NYM (deGrom) Park - @NYM
FD - 39.97 DK - 21.52

His last start with the Rangers was not a memorable one as he gave up nine hits and 10 earned runs to the Marlins in a big loss. That is all behind him now as he joined the National League West leading Dodgers during the trade deadline and gets a fresh start. He saw his K/9 rate drop from 11.84 in 2016 to 9.72 this season and it appears to be the cause of moving away from the curveball(10%-5%) and throwing more cutters(9%-14%). Outside of the three blow-ups since mid-June, Darvish has held opponents to three or less earned runs in 15 of his last 18 starts. He gets a great matchup to start his Dodgers career against the Mets in the fourth best park for pitchers this season against a team that has been striking out about 3.5% more than their season average over the past couple weeks. With all the other options available you are also likely to get him at a very low ownership making him an excellent pivot.

Eduardo Rodriguez FD 8000 DK 6900
Opponent - CHW (Rodon) Park - @BOS
FD - 30.98 DK - 15.94

We wrote about Rodriguez yesterday in our main article before he was pushed back for Porcello. Here is what was wrote:

Speaking of huge money line favorites coming on the cheaper side, Rodriguez and the Sox opened at -240 and it's easy to see why. The White Sox are a bottom-feeding team at this point after selling off some at the trade deadline and not being all that good to begin with. The lineups they've run with in the short term have been K heavy as opposed to their season-long team stats. Look no further than the dumpster dive of a lineup they threw out yesterday against Happ and you have a pretty good idea of what will happen today. Obviously, E-Rod's issue is control with him walking more than 3.5 batters per nine but he as K upside that mitigates the wildness. I see him as a solid SP2 on DraftKings with the win expectation and a GPP target on FD if he can keep some semblance of control.

Today the Red Sox are currently the biggest favorite on the slate(-205) and facing the same White Sox team. Yes, they scored some runs last night(5) but I don't see it happening again if E-Rod can avoid handing out free passes.
