GOALIE

Braden Holtby FD - $9200 DK - $8300
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 18.52 DK - 4.63

The veteran net-minder doesn't have the numbers that we are used to seeing from him to start the season, but he has vastly improved his play in his last three games as he's won each of those games while allowing seven goals and facing a whopping 105 shots. Tonight's opponent, the Arizona Coyotes are ranked fourth worst offensively while scoring only 2.53 goals per game and the Capitals are currently listed as massive -200 favorites to win. Holtby is my favorite goalie in cash game formats today.

Jacob Markstrom FD - $7800 DK - $7800
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 17.94 DK - 4.49

I was lucky enough to watch this young man play on Hockey Night In Canada on Saturday and he was magnificent against the Penguins as he allowed only two goals on 39 shots. Tonight's opponent, The Detroit Red Wings are ranked 23rd offensively while scoring only 2.67 goals per game and Markstrom has allowed two goals or fewer in his last six games. If for some reason you don't feel comfortable rostering Holtby this evening, then I would recommend considering this guy for your cash games, but when it comes to GPP formats, Markstrom is an elite play.

CENTERS

Tyler Seguin FD - $8400 DK - $7500
Opponent - WPG
Proj Pts FD - 18.08 DK - 5.29

As a rule, when paying up for players for cash games at any position we need a combination of ice-time, shots, and upside. Enter Tyler Seguin who is averaging over 20 minutes per game, firing 4.3 shots per game, and has also recorded 15 points in 14 games this season. He is currently on a three-game point streak with two goals and two assists and the Jets allow three goals per game and they gave up five goals two nights ago. Seguin plays on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit for the Stars and he is an elite play in all formats.

Stack with: Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov

William Karlsson FD - $4600 DK - $4300
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 8.55 DK - 2.55

While searching for a value play, I stumbled upon this young man who centers the top line and the top PP unit for the Vegas Golden Knights. He has been playing well this season and he has a goal, two assists, five shots and three blocks in his last three games while averaging 18.5 minutes of ice-time. His opponent the Toronto Maple Leafs have allowed 3.67 goals per game which is tied for third worst the league. Karlsson feels like a GPP play only, but at these cheap prices, I think that we can consider him in all formats this evening against a weak Leafs defense.

Stack with: Reilly Smith, Jonathan Marchessault

Also Consider: Mika Zibanejad(NYR)

WINGERS

Alex Ovechkin FD - $8800 DK - $8100
Opponent - ARI
Proj Pts FD - 17.27 DK - 5.01

After not scoring a goal for five games, "The Great Eight" potted one last game while firing four shots on goal. The Russian superstar is second in the league with 11 goals and third in the league with 67 shots on goal. We need exposure against the Coyotes and their horrible defense that is ranked second last in the league with 4.13 goals allowed per game. Ovechkin is an elite play in all formats this evening.

PP Stack with: Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie

Blake Wheeler FD - $7600 DK - $7600
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 15.75 DK - 4.57

The Jets captain is on a roll lately as he has four goals, five assists and 10 shots on goal in his last four games. The stars are ranked a respectable 10th defensively, but Wheeler had three assists against them only two games ago as the Jets defeated the Stars 5-2. The veteran winger plays on the #1 line and the #1 PP unit for the Jets and I think that he keeps firing on all cylinders this evening, so fire him up with confidence in all formats.

Stack with: Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor

Brock Boeser FD - $5900 DK - $4700
Opponent - DET
Proj Pts FD - 9.19 DK - 2.81

You may not have heard of this guy because he is a rookie, but he certainly hasn't been playing like one lately. The young American was drafted 23rd overall in the 2015 entry draft by the Canucks who believe that he could be a superstar in the making. Boeser has three goals, four assists and a whopping 15 shots on goal in his last three games and he plays on the #1 line and the top PP unit for Vancouver. The Red Wings aren't bad defensively, but at these cheap prices, Boeser is a solid play in all formats today.

Stack with: Sven Baertschi, Bo Horvat

DEFENSEMEN

Kevin Shattenkirk FD - $6000 DK - $5400
Opponent - CBJ
Proj Pts FD - 12.09 DK - 3.67

The former Blues point-man is getting used to his new gig in Manhattan as he in on a four-game point streak with two goals and four assists to go along with 12 shots and five blocks in that span. He plays on the #1 PP unit for the Rangers and he kills penalties for them as well. If you're paying up at the position today then Shattenkirk is a fine choice in all formats.

Nate Schmidt FD - $3900 DK - $4100
Opponent - TOR
Proj Pts FD - 6.53 DK - 2.04

From a value perspective, the former Washington defenseman looks like a decent choice today. He has two assists, five shots and three blocks in his last two games while averaging 22.5 minutes of ice-time and he plays on the #1 PP unit for Vegas. Schmidt is a solid cash game option today against an awful Leafs defense.

Also Consider: Dustin Byfuglien (WPG)
