Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 2/11/18

Welcome back to a busy Sunday in daily fantasy hockey. We have two separate slates today, a four-game early slate and a five-game main slate and I will be providing you picks for each position for both so let's get started.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIE

Early Slate

Ben Bishop FD - $8800 DK - $8500
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 13.53 DK - 3.38

After a couple of abnormally shaky games, the veteran tender has stopped 68 of 71 shots in his last two victories which gives him an impressive 23-14-3 record this season to go along with a .920 save %. We all know about the Stars and how elite they are on home-ice and today, they welcome the Canucks and their lowly 28th ranked offense to town. Look for the Stars to be heavy favorites and for them to cruise to an easy victory today, so all things considered, Bishop is an elite play and my top goalie in all formats for the early slate.

Main Slate

Marc-Andre Fleury FD - $8400 DK - $8200
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 15.5 DK - 3.87

There is only one logical choice at the goalie position for the late slate and it's this guy, who comes into tonight's game with a 16-5-2 record and a stifling .934 save %. The Golden Knights are awesome overall this season but are even better at home as they have a record of 19-3-2, which is very impressive for an expansion team in its first season. The Flyers aren't bad offensively as they are ranked 13th overall, but they are in a back-to-back, so I can't see them putting up much of a fight here, therefore making Fleury a great play for the late slate. Fire him up in all formats folks.

CENTERS

Early Slate

Tyler Seguin FD - $8200 DK - $7300
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 15.85 DK - 4.69

This guy is on fire as he scored again last time out to give him six goals and two assists during his current five-game point streak and he has 21 shots on goal during that span. He is a huge favorite here at DFSR and he will continue to be as long as he keeps contributing at these levels and the veteran superstar is elite on home-ice as he has tallied 33 of his 51 points in Dallas. The Canucks are very poor o defense as they rank sixth-worst in that category, so Seguin is an elite play and possibly my favorite play overall at any position today.

Stack with: Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov

Also Consider: Evgeny Kuznetsov

Main Slate

Patrice Bergeron FD - $7900 DK - $7400
Opponent - NJ
Proj Pts FD - 17.13 DK - 5.12

Bergeron has been red-hot lately as he recorded an assist last night to give him two goals, an assist, and eight shots in his last two games and 12 total points over his last 10 games. He also offers elite shot volume as he is averaging 3.63 shots per game, which gives him a perfect mixture of upside and safety and the Devils are only average defensively, so lock him and load him in all formats.

Stack with: Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak

Erik Haula FD - $6300 DK - $6000
Opponent - PHI
Proj Pts FD - 11.73 DK - 3.45

I really don't know how to say this guy's last name but regardless, he has been impressive in Vegas this season. He plays between two very talented wingers and scored a goal last game to give him 40 points in 50 games this season which is a new career high and he still has about 30 games left. The Flyers are ranked 16th defensively and while Haula's 2.24 shot per game average is risky for cash games, he is a terrific GPP play stacked with his line-mates.

Stack with: James Neal, David Perron

Also Consider: John Tavares(NYI)

WINGERS

Early Slate

Blake Wheeler FD - $7000 DK - $7100
Opponent - NYR
Proj Pts FD - 14.47 DK - 4.28

Superstar, Mark Scheifele, is back for the Jets(bad news for opponents) so Wheels has moved back to wing. In his last five games, the veteran has five assists and he has seven shots and two blocks in his last two while playing on the #1 line and the #1 powerplay unit for the Jets. The Rangers are a complete mess right now as they've given up 20 goals in their last five games and have been much worse on the road dropping to 27th on defense, so fire up Wheeler in all formats for the early slate.

Stack with: Mark Scheifele, Mathieu Perreault

Also Consider: Vladimir Tarasenko(STL)

Main Slate

Johnny Gaudreau FD - $8100 DK - $7200
Opponent - NYI
Proj Pts FD - 15.24 DK - 4.4

"Johnny Hockey" is having another terrific season and what is most impressive is that he's even better while playing on the road as 34 of his impressive 65 points have been away from Calgary. Tonight, he and the Flames travel to Long Island to take on the Islanders and their league-worst defense that allows 3.68 goals per game. Gaudreau has three goals and five assists to go along with 14 shots during his current five-game point streak, so lock him and load him this evening against an awful Islander defense.

Stack with: Sean Monahan, Michael Ferland

Sam Reinhart FD - $4800 DK - $4600
Opponent - COL
Proj Pts FD - 8.18 DK - 2.41

Some guys are simply too cheap considering their current production and this guy is no exception as he has a goal, five assists, eight shots, and three blocks in his last three games while playing on the #1 line and the #1 powerplay unit for the Sabres. The Avalanche are ranked 19th in defense and are much worse without superstar Nathan MacKinnon in the lineup, so fire up Reinhart in all formats at these cheap prices.

Stack with: Jack Eichel, Ryan O'Reilly(PP)

Also Consider: Taylor Hall(NJ)

DEFENSEMEN

Early Slate

Greg Pateryn FD - $4300 DK - $3500
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 8.4 DK - 2.45

On a small slate, we are going to need some value to fit some of the top players in our lineup and no better place to turn than the defense position. While Pateryn has points in four of his last five games, he is not an upside play but rather is here in the write-up thanks to his high floor. In those five games, he has 23 blocks and 16 shots while skating alongside Dam Hamhuis on the second pairing. He is a great source of salary relief today and is safe in all formats, especially on DraftKings where he comes in the mid $3K range.

Main Slate

Marc-Edouard Vlasic FD - $4700 DK - $4600
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 9.3 DK - 2.78

We all know Brent Burns is an elite play and day or night but on a small slate, we are going to need some value to get the top forwards in our lineups, especially in cash games. Enter Vlasic who also doesn't have a ton of upside but has been very consistent and best of all he has seen his salary drop back in tot he mid $4K range. Over his last 10 games, he has tallied seven points with a terrific balance of shots(25) and blocks(26) giving him excellent PTS/$ value for all formats.
