What We Know

Stephen Curry is out against the Trail Blazers

Lots of news today. We start out with Golden State and Stephen Curry, who rolled his ankle in just 2 minutes last night. He'll be held out for at least the next 2 games and we'll see a few guys pick up opportunity. At point guard, Quinn Cook and Shaun Livingston will split minutes. I'll pass outside of a large-field tourney. Instead, I'll look towards Kevin Durant as one of my top plays of the night. Thompson and Green will also pick up some usage and shots and you have to think both hit value if this game stays close. Off the bench, we could see Nick Young throw up some more shots. He's a tournament flier only. All in all, KD is one of my favorite plays on the entire night and Thompson = Green are viable cash game plays until Curry returns.

Anthony Davis is doubtful to play against the Pelicans

I guess we don't technically "know" here, but every single thing is pointing towards Anthony Davis missing this game. Assuming he does, Nikola Mirotic should grab the start and play 30+ minutes. He's a top 3 play at the PF position and I'll have a ton of exposure in all formats. Cheick Diallo will also see some minutes and I guess you can play him if you need to punt. Personally, not neccesary. Usage-wise, Jrue Holiday is going to go off. Expect 25+ shots and at least 40 fantasy points. Rondo and Moore will also see a few extra shots, but they don't stand out. Holiday and Mirotic are the 2 guys you want to play in cash.

Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier have been ruled out against the Kings

D.J. Augustin has been upgraded to probable, so at least someone will be available to play. For Fournier, look for Simmons and Hezonja to grab a bunch of minutes and shots. They are both very good plays in both formats. Arron Afflalo will also pick up some minutes, but I'll pass. As for Gordon, look for Hezonja and Issac to benefit. We'll also see Vucevic play big minutes and shoot a ton with the other shot-takers out of the lineup. The Kings aren't a scary offense, so this is a situation you can capitalize on.

De'Aaron Fox has been ruled out against the Magic

I think this one is pretty simple. Frank Mason III is the only other PG on the roster and he should most definitely see 30-35 minutes with ease. Hield and Bogdanovic will also see an extra 4 or 5 minutes and they are already in play in all formats. For me, Frank Mason III is the only guy I have any real interest in. He will be in most of my tournaments and 100% of cash games.

What We're Waiting to Know

Otto Porter Jr. is questionable to play against the Pelicans

Porter is a huge piece of this offense and even more so with John Wall out of the rotation. He's grabbing 30 minutes every night and we have a few different places to look. The obvious one is Kelly Oubre Jr. He's going to see at least 34 minutes and could get up to 40. I love him everywhere. Mike Scott and Bradley Beal will grab 5-10 minutes each and both are already in play against a lifeless Pelicans defense. This is a game I'm all over and don't have any reservations about.

Jamal Murray is considered questionable to play against the Lakers with a head injury

I figured we would see some more news on this today, but nope. Let's say Murray play. Everyone is still an average play against a weak Lakers D. If Murray is out, I'll look towards Gary Harris and Will Barton seeing some time at the 1. On paper, it'll probably be Monte Morris, Devin Harris, or Malik Beasley. I just suspect they bring the ball up and hand it to one of the studs. If I had to take a shot, Devin Harris has upside, but I won't be there. Gary Harris and Will Barton are 2 of my favorite plays at a surprisingly deep SG position.

Every Lineup Guys

With De'Aaron Fox out, there's no getting around 30 minutes out of Frank Mason. He saw 29 last night, but FOx grabbed 6 in the beginning, so that would theoretically put Mason around 35 minutes. The Pelicans rank 29th against the PG position since the All-Star Break and this game is going to be insanely highly-scoring. Mason is a damn good player when on the floor and this team doesn't take many shots away from the PG by force. Mason is my favorite play on this slate and makes sense in every format.

  • It's nice that the Pelicans rank 29th against PGs since the All Star break. But Fox is playing Orlando.

But, hey, it is past 5 o'clock, isn't it?

  • Fox scored the points against the Pelicans!!! Was referring to his last game, not tonight.
