Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 3/25/18

Welcome back hockey fans. Sunday starts with an early match between the Flyers and Penguins but for fantasy purposes, we will be concentrating on the four-game main slate starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. Let's dig in and take a look at some of the top plays at each position.

Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

GOALIE

Connor Hellebuyck FD - $8500 DK - $8000
Opponent - NAS
Proj Pts FD - 18.66 DK - 4.66

It's a tough day for finding safety with your goaltender and the slate really does have a GPP feel but if you must play cash games I trust Hellebuyck the most. He has won three straight starts and has been terrific down the stretch going 6-1-1 in the month of March with an elite .939 save % while facing an average of 32.7 shots against per game. On the surface, the matchup is very scary against the Predators Top 10 offense but they are playing on a back to back on the road and third game in four nights.

Also Consider: Cam Talbot(EDM) in GPP formats

CENTERS

Tyler Seguin FD - $8200 DK - $7500
Opponent - VAN
Proj Pts FD - 16.48 DK - 4.82

My top center of the night is easily Tyler Seguin. First of all, he has been incredibly consistent lately with 20 points in his last 15 games while averaging a whopping 4.8 shots per game giving him an elite floor and ceiling. Next, Seguin also gets the best matchup of all the centers tonight as he faces the Canucks who have struggled big time since the start of February with a 6-19 record while giving up 84 goals(3.4 per game) and now rank 28th overall in defense. All things considered, Seguin is safe in all formats.

PP Stack with: Jamie Benn, Alexander Radulov

Riley Nash FD - $5800 DK - $5300
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 10.04 DK - 2.87

For value on this small slate, I will be turning to Riley Nash who continues to center the top line between Marchand and Pastrnak while Patrice Bergeron is on injured reserve. He comes in with points in three of his last four games and has averaged a point per game since Bergeron went down. He doesn't provide a ton of safety with lower shot volume(1.5 shots per game) but gives us just enough salary relief, especially on a small slate, to consider him in all formats. He is also an elite stacking option with his linemates in GPP formats.

Stack with: Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak

Also Consider: Mark Scheifele(WPG) in GPP formats

WINGERS

Rickard Rakell FD - $7200 DK - $7000
Opponent - EDM
Proj Pts FD - 14.71 DK - 4.22

Rakell continues to roll this season with some added opportunity and since the calendar flipped to 2018 he has tallied 34 points in 35 games and now has 63 on the season. If you are paying up at the wing position today consider Rakell in all formats as he and the Ducks are in a terrific spot despite playing on the road. They go into Edmonton to face the Oilers who are playing on a back to back and third game in four nights and haev some pretty wild reverse splits as they rank 28th overall in home defense allowing 3.4 goals against per game.

Stack with: Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry

Ty Rattie FD - $3700 DK - $5400
Opponent - ANA
Proj Pts FD - 10.14 DK - 2.93

In the same game on the other bench, we can also consider Ty Rattie as a value play. The price has taken a huge bump on DraftKings leaving him best utilized as a GPP play stacked with McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins but on FanDuel he is still in the sub $4K range making him an excellent salary relief play. He was held without a point in his first two games when called up but since has tallied six points in his last five games with two multi-point efforts.

Stack with: Connor McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

Also Consider: Jason Zucker or Nino Niederreiter(MIN)

DEFENSEMEN

Alexander Edler FD - $5300 DK - $5000
Opponent - DAL
Proj Pts FD - 12.75 DK - 3.72

When rostering Alexander Edler in fantasy the first rule is to realize that he is not a big upside type play, especially today on the road in Dallas. This combined with the price leaves him a non-factor in GPP's for me but an excellent high floor cash game play. Over his last 10 games, he has provided a nice balance of blocks(31) and shots(25) for an average of 3.9 DraftKings/13.5 FanDuel points per game.

Kevan Miller FD - $3700 DK - $3800
Opponent - MIN
Proj Pts FD - 8.93 DK - 2.54

For a punt play at the position, I will once again turn to Kevan Miller of the Bruins. The price took a big jump after last game when he picked up and assist, four blocks, and two shots but he is still in play under $4K on both sites. He is averaging over 20 minutes of ice-time over the last 10 games and has provided 31 blocks and 10 shots to go along with four points. On a small slate where we want to roster multiple top players, Miller makes a nice addition to our lineups in all formats.

Also Consider: Adam Larsson(EDM)
