Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/10/18

We already highlighted Mile Mikolas and Walker Buehler in our 5/10/18 picks article. We also highlighted the Milwaukee Brewers as a popular game stack at their respective team price points. Here we will look at some other (possible GPP) considerations.

Pitchers

Zack Greinke FD 9300 DK 10200
Opponent - WSH (Tanner Roark) Park - WSH
FD - 34.45 DK - 18.25

I recommended some inexperienced pitchers in the main article so if you are looking for some experience don't hesitate to get Greinke into your lineups tonight as he is our top projected pitcher from a raws points perspective. The Diamondbacks open as -135 favorites tonight as they open a four-game series vs. the Nationals. While the Chase Field is ranked as one of the better hitting parks in the league, Grienk has time and time again shown he is not at all concerned as displayed by his somewhat amazing splits. He has made seven starts this season and four times allowed two or fewer runs, all at home while holding opponents to a .257 wOBA and recording a 1.85 ERA. This isn't new either as he was slightly better at home last season as well with a 2.87 ERA(3.65 on the road) while striking out almost two more batters per nine. The challenge tonight will be navigating around Bryce Harper but he gets him at the right time as he is hitless in his last four games and hitting under .200 over the last two weeks.

Stacks

Kansas City Royals vs. Chris Tillman(BAL)

Jon Jay FD 2500 DK 2800
Opponent - BAL (Chris Tillman) Park - BAL
FD - 9.96 DK - 7.79
Jorge Soler FD 3700 DK 4200
Opponent - BAL (Chris Tillman) Park - BAL
FD - 10.15 DK - 7.63
Mike Moustakas FD 4100 DK 4500
Opponent - BAL (Chris Tillman) Park - BAL
FD - 12.44 DK - 9.45
Lucas Duda FD 2500 DK 3400
Opponent - BAL (Chris Tillman) Park - BAL
FD - 11.84 DK - 8.81

I talked about a couple of Royals bats in the main article for cash games and despite the Royals being a bottom of the barrel offense overall, they are in a great spot tonight vs. Chris Tillman. Tillman should be well rested as he only went one inning in his last start vs. the Angels giving up seven earned runs without recording a strikeout and has now given up four or more earned runs in five of his six starts. He is walking(14) more than he is striking out(13) and has given up a 42.3% hard contact rate against and five home runs in those six starts. That is enough right there to consider even a minor league team against him tonight.

For the Royals, it starts with Jon Jay who comes at a value price on both sites and has been very consistent in the month of May hitting .394 and has spent three of the last four games at the top of the order. He will likely be back there again tonight as Tillman has also much worse against left-handed bats. Jorge Soler has also been consistent and has seen a move up the lineup and now hitting in the two-hole for the Royals. On the season, he is slashing .321/.431/.545 with five long balls and 15 RBI. Right behind him is the Moose who, like I mentioned in the main article, has been the most productive member of the offense with 10 home runs, 28 RBI, and 23 runs scored while hitting .292 with .372 wOBA on the season. He is another left-handed bat that matches up really well against Tillman. Then we have Lucas Duda who will never be mistaken for a consistent hitter but does have some pop in his bat with 25+ home runs in three of his last four seasons.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Mike Leake(SEA)

Teoscar Hernandez FD 3300 DK 3900
Opponent - SEA (Mike Leake) Park - SEA
FD - 11.34 DK - 8.64
Josh Donaldson FD 3800 DK 4700
Opponent - SEA (Mike Leake) Park - SEA
FD - 1.52 DK - 1.13
Justin Smoak FD 3100 DK 3500
Opponent - SEA (Mike Leake) Park - SEA
FD - 12.03 DK - 9
Yangervis Solarte FD 3200 DK 3900
Opponent - SEA (Mike Leake) Park - SEA
FD - 10.37 DK - 7.92

The Jays currently sit as the #6 team when looking at implied run lines and a lot of it has to do with the matchup. They will face Mike Leake tonight who has been a borderline disaster for the Mariners as he has given up 27 earned runs in his first seven starts including six home runs while giving up nearly 39% hard contact.

The Jays who have been better known for their attack on southpaw pitching, have been much better against right-handed pitchers this season ranking 4th in wOBA(.331), 9th in wRC+(105), and they are 1st in ISO(.211). The top of the stack is dependant on whether Curtis Granderson returns tonight but if he sits out once again it will be Teoscar Hernandez who has been a consistent addition with hits in 17 of his first 24 games with six home runs, 15 RBI, and 17 runs scored. Josh Donaldson hasn't been great since returning from the DL but hits in a favorable spot and is still a very powerful hitter with a ton of upside. Justin Smoak is the jays switch-hitting cleanup hitter and while he has been more consistent from the right side of the plate, the majority of his power comes from the left side. The Jays are defintiely a GPP only play but with so many other good spots out there, they could be a tad under owned tonight.
