Pitchers

Jordan Montgomery FD - P 9200 DK - SP 8000
Opponent - OAK (Paul Blackburn) Park - NYY
FD - 36.51 DK - 19.49

While FanDuel appears to know how to price pitchers on a small slate, DraftKings is struggling tonight with two of the top options massively underpriced considering the size of the slate. Let's start with Montgomery who opens as a -300 home favourite against an A's team that ranks bottom three in almost every statistical category. Monty is coming off his worst start of the season on the road in Tampa but the good news is that he has been much better at home averaging close to seven DK points more per game. All things considered, he is our top cash game pitcher on this slate.

George Kirby FD - P 9000 DK - SP 7100
Opponent - BAL (Tyler Wells) Park - SEA
FD - 35.49 DK - 18.97

Looking at the model on my cheatsheet, Kirby comes in at #1 tonight so seeing that $7,100 price tag on DraftKings has me salivating big time. The Mariners' first-round pick in 2019 made his way to the big leagues in a hurry and has been more everything they expected and enters Monday with a 3.12 ERA/3.40 xFIP through nine starts. He has also flashed the elite K stuff he showed in the minors as he has struck out six or more in five of his nine starts. The Orioles haven't been AS bad as everyone expected but are still a bottom 10 offence overall and have struck out over 26% of the time over the last week. I will have exposure in all formats as he provides more PTS/$ upside than Montgomery.

Catcher/First Base

Freddie Freeman FD - 1B 4500 DK - 1B 5800
Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - COL
FD - 17.94 DK - 13.52

The Dodgers head into Colorado tonight and with the balanced pitching approach I went over above it shouldn't be too hard to get exposure tonight, at least on DraftKings. Freeman is a former MVP and once again tearing the cover off the ball as he enters Monday with hits in 10 straight bringing his average up over .300 on the season. Tonight, he faces Chad Kuhl who has allowed a ton of baserunners(1.89 WHIP last 8 starts) and has given up almost 8% more hard contact to lefties. Fire up Freeman as a building block in all formats tonight.

Josh Bell FD 3400 DK 4300
Opponent - PIT (Undecided) Park - PIT
FD - 15.56 DK - 11.17

Whether you are paying up for pitching and can't afford Freeman or just playing the pivot game in GPP, there are other options to consider. Josh Bell is right there with Freeman in terms of PTS/$ value as he comes much cheaper and has been equally as good in the short-term with hits in nine of his last 10 with two doubles, a triple, and four home runs. On the season, he is slashing a very impressive .308/.390/.492 and is another player who has broken the 40 runs/40 RBI mark and probably most impressive is that he is doing it on a bottom-feeder team. I will have exposure to Bell in all formats.

Second Base

Brendan Rodgers FD 3100 DK 4600
Opponent - LAD (Tyler Anderson) Park - LAD
FD - 9.28 DK - 7.12

The Coors game is going to be popular and while it will mostly come from the Dodgers' side, I like some pieces for the home team as well. The matchup does not jump off the page as Tyler Anderson has been terrific overall but the good news is that he has struggled recently giving up four or more earned runs in two of his last three starts, both on the road. For Rodgers, he has started to heat up with hits in six of his last seven games and most of all, crushes lefties to the tune of a .400 wOBA, 145 wRC+, and .212 ISO.

Andrés Giménez FD 2600 DK 4200
Opponent - MIN (Sonny Gray) Park - MIN
FD - 7.73 DK - 6

He is often overlooked due to his hitting down the lineup in Cleveland but that hasn't stopped him from a breakout in his first full season in the big leagues. Through 59 games(212 PA), he has a very impressive .318/.359/.513 slash line with eight home runs and comes in with hits in 22 of his last 24 games. I am not at all worried about the position in the lineup and will have a piece of Gimenez's consistent bat in all formats.

Also Consider: Marcus Semien(TEX) in a plus matchup vs Bubic(KC) or Santiago Espinal(TOR) at his FanDuel price to get some cheap Jays exposure

Shortstop

Trea Turner FD 4600 DK 6000
Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - COL
FD - 16.23 DK - 12.5

The game plan for this slate is most definitely to try and build around Freeman and Turner who sit atop our projections tonight and for good reason. They not only get to hit in the best hitter's park in the league, they are also both red-hot. For Turner, he has been consistent all season but has really turned it up in June hitting .355 with a .406 wOBA and 165 wRC+. He checks off every box including speed, power, consistency, hit leadoff, gets a plus matchup, and gets to hit in Coors. Worth every dollar and is a top play in all formats tonight.

Oneil Cruz FD 3200 DK 3800
Opponent - WSH (Erick Fedde) Park - WSH
FD - 9.61 DK - 7.39

The price is adjusting fast to the very talented prospect but there is still some room for growth given his tools. He has flashed almost all of those tools in his short period in the big leagues and has been terrific with hits in five of six starts with three doubles and seven RBI. He is projected to hit leadoff once again and gets a plus matchup against Erick Fedde. If not paying up for Turner tonight, Cruz is easily my second choice on this slate and in play in all formats.

Third Base

José Ramírez FD 4300 DK 5600
Opponent - MIN (Sonny Gray) Park - MIN
FD - 11.78 DK - 8.9

The Dodgers bats in Coors is the likely spot start lineups tonight and that could bring some lower ownership to one of the AL MVP front-runners in Jose Ramirez. He has heated right back up again and enters the week with hits in 14 of his last 15 games while tallying an off-the-charts .371/.394/.645 slash line. The matchup may not look great but Gray's worst start came against the Guardians in his last start and bad news for him switch-hitting JRam is much better from the left side with a .449 wOBA and 200 wRC+.

Ke'Bryan Hayes FD 3000 DK 4400
Opponent - WSH (Erick Fedde) Park - WSH
FD - 10.15 DK - 7.83

The future for the Pirates is extremely bright with Oneil Cruz and Ke'Bryan Hayes in the middle infield. Hayes has flashed his huge upside but has been derailed by injuries for the most part leading to a less-than-inspiring .263 average but does come in with hits in three straight. Like Cruz, he has an elite combination of power and speed and pairing them together gets you a ton of PTS/$ upside at a projected lower ownership. A terrific combo for GPP formats tonight.

Outfield

Connor Joe FD 3200 DK 4500
Opponent - LAD (Tyler Anderson) Park - LAD
FD - 10.69 DK - 8.08
Yonathan Daza FD 2700 DK 3000
Opponent - LAD (Tyler Anderson) Park - LAD
FD - 9.23 DK - 7.25
Chris Taylor FD 3200 DK 4300
Opponent - COL (Chad Kuhl) Park - COL
FD - 11.48 DK - 8.68

With Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman being building blocks for us tonight, paying up in the outfield is not going to be an option. Instead, I will look for some value and the great news is that we get it in the same game. Let's start with the Rockies duo who don't necessarily get the best matchup against Tyler Anderson but like I mentioned above he is coming off two bad road starts in a row and now gets to tackle Coors. It is also hard to ignore the PTS/$ value with the Rockies' outfielders considering they also hit 1st/2nd in the lineup and are both plus hitters against lefty pitching. For Taylor, he is more of a GPP option to add to your Dodger's stacks as he hits down in the lineup and strikes out nearly 35% of the time but comes with an affordable price tag and has upside, especially against righties as he has been slightly better in the split.

Also Consider: Jarren Duran(BOS) who is cheap and hitting leadoff despite a tough matchup or you can straight punt one of your outfield spots with Edward Olivares(KC) who is hitting cleanup for the Royals and has hits in nine of his last 10 games
