Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Orioles vs.Erik Johnson (SD)

Instead of boring you with Coors talk, I'm going to give you three other GPP options on tonight's slate. And the first team on the list are the Orioles.

I'm going to start off by saying that Erik Johnson has had it real rough so far this season. He is coming into this contest with a FIP and ERA over 8 (not a typo) and a hard contact rate all the way at 42.0%. He is getting hit hard, so there is no better team to stack against him than the Orioles. The Orioles own a .350 wOBA (2nd in MLB) and .203 ISO (1st in MLB) against right-handed pitching. I see Johnson having a rough outing once again, so do yourself a favor and load up on those Baltimore bats!

Marlins vs. Mike Pelfrey(DET)

There are many other stacking options besides Coors and the Marlins are second on my list. They will be going up against Mike Pelfrey, who is another pitcher who has struggled this season. He is coming into this contest sporting a 4.91 ERA and 5.09 xFIP. I guess you can say he's worse than his ERA suggests (ouch). I know the Marlins are in the middle-of-the-pack when it comes to statistics against right-handed bats, but Pelfrey has been awful and the Marlins are hot, so go ahead and get some exposure to the Fish! This stack will allow you to pay up for some of those high-priced pitchers you love on today's slate.

Detroit Tigers vs Adam Conley (MIA)

Adam Conley is another one of those streaky pitchers that could get in trouble today. Yes he owns a 3.56 ERA, but it's backed up by a 4.60 xFIP. He is due for some regression and going up against a righty-heavy lineup won't help him out today. The other thing to note is the fact that he will be leaving spacious Marlins Park to head to a park that is not so friendly to pitchers (Comercia Park). The Tigers own a .325 wOBA (11th in MLB) and .167 ISO (10th in MLB) against southpaws so don't be surprised if Conley gets in trouble. These guys are very cheap, so don't be surprised if Miggy and company see their FanDuel price tags and go off because they feel disrespected!

So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.
