Pitching Targets

*Note - I discussed David Price, Max Scherzer and Jake Peavy in the Main Article and will touch on another option from each slate below.*

Archie Bradley FD 6700 DK 8500
Opponent - PHI (Eflin) Park - @ARI
FD - 30.85 DK - 19.97

The early slate is ugly but from a GPP perspective I think Archie Bradley is a very viable option and could even be considered for cash games if you want to venture down that road today. After back to back losses to the Rays and Dodgers allowing nine earned runs, he has bounced back in a big way. He went six innings of three hit ball vs. these Phillies in a win on June 19th and then went five strong innings vs. the Rockies in Coors allowing just five hits and one earned run in a no decision. He has K upside(9.59 K/9) and the Phillies strikeout 21.4% of the time vs. RH pitching and rank 28th in wOBA. The price is just too low on FanDuel for a small slate like this with little to no options.
Carlos Martinez FD 9000 DK 9200
Opponent - KC (Volquez) Park - @STL
FD - 33.7 DK - 22.5

While the strikeout rate has gone down this season I don't think it is something to worry about going forward. The fastball velocity remains above 95 mph and the hard hit contact rate is still below 30% for the season. Some of the issue could be that he is throwing less sliders(17% down from 24% last year) and more curveballs(4.4% up from 1%) which is leading toa low swinging strike rate(8%). As he gains command with this new appraoch I feel the K rate will come back to normal. While the matchup vs. the defending World Series champs looks less than appealing they are not the same team in 2016, ranking 19th in wOBA and own the second worst road record in the American League.
