What We Know

We have a weekend full of decisions based around Coors Field. The weather in Denver looks great for the entire weekend so we can prepare accordingly. If you would like an update on all the weather for today be sure to check our Expert Weather Update Article published by Mark Paquette.

Personnel

  • Matt Carpenter has hit the DL with a grade 2 strain of the oblique. Look for Kolten Wong and Jedd Gyrko to replace him on the diamond.
  • Jean Segura was pulled on Wednesday after one at bat with bruised triceps and is considered day-to-day as of now.
  • The Red Sox acquisition of Aaron Hill opens up the possibility of a platoon with Travis Shaw. Hill vs. lefties and Shaw vs. righties. Perfect for Daily Fantasy.
  • Lorenzo Cain was taking part in running drills before the game yesterday which is a great sign moving forward. He will be out, however, until after the All Star break.
  • Word around the Pirates organization is that Josh Bell will be called up for the weekend series.
  • Mitch Moreland will be returning to the Rangers lineup on Friday night after sitting out the last few games with a tight calf.
  • The Orioles have confirmed that Ubaldo Jimenez will be starting on Friday vs. the Angels.
  • After getting destroyed by the Rockies last night Adam Morgan has been optioned to Triple A.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

Justin Upton FD 3100 DK 2300
Opponent - TOR (Happ) Park - @TOR
FD - 10.23 DK - 8.06

It has been a disappointing start to the 2016 season for Justin Upton and his new team. He is hitting just .233 and has seen a drop from 20 wRC+ to 75 wRC+ so far this season. So why is he listed? Well he is just too cheap on DraftKings at $2,300 and is a perfect fit in a high percentage of your lineups if you are trying to fit an elite pitcher and top stack tonight. Upton has actually been starting to heat up with hits in seven of his last nine games including three multi hit games and four extra base hits. Lock and load!

Corey Seager FD 3000 DK 4600
Opponent - SD (Cashner) Park - @LAD
FD - 10.84 DK - 8.5

Corey Seager is just to cheap on FanDuel today and is a near must play if you are rostering an elite ace pitcher tonight. He is quickly turning into one of the top shortsops in the game and is slashing a cool .299/.359/.531 on the season with 17 hoe runs, 41 RBI and 57 runs scored. Not bad from a 22 year old kid in his first full season in the major leagues. He gets a decent matchup as well vs. Andrew Cashner and his 4.42 ERA and even worse 4.80 xFIP. Cashner has seen a drop off over 1 mph in his fastball velocity which leads to trouble as he throws it 68% of the time. Look for Seager to take advantage tonight.
