Pitching Targets

Aaron Sanchez FD 9200 DK 10200
Opponent - DET (Boyd) Park - @TOR
FD - 34.7 DK - 22.74

Pitching is pretty tough on the early slate and I will admit that we are definitely stretching a bit here with Aaron Sanchez. That being said, he definitely has a ton of upside. While the Tigers are a very good offense, they strikeout at a 22.8% clip against righties, which is 8th most in the league. That shows us that when pitchers are on their game, they have a ton of strikeout upside. Aaron Sanchez on the other hand, has dominated right handers with a .256 wOBA that is backed up by a 3.13 xFIP and an insanely low 23.1% hard contact rate. While the strikeout numbers aren't huge, they are big enough where the Tigers will give him a few more than usual. While I am not confident in Sanchez, he certainly has a ton of tournament upside. As a note, I do prefer him on FanDuel where the win is worth, though he is an elite tourney play on both sites.

Brandon McCarthy FD 7900 DK 9800
Opponent - SD (Perdomo) Park - @LAD
FD - 33.59 DK - 21.77

While McCarthy hasn't pitched a full season since 2014, he has always been a solid pitcher against both right handers and lefties. In 2014, he sported a .330 wOBA that was inflated by a high BABIP and a high HR/FB rate. As we all know, the Padres are the worst team in the league against right handers and it is not too close. While you may assume this stadium is better than Petco, not so much. They actually ranked right next to each other in terms of power and extra base hits. McCarthy pitched a sold 5 innings with 8 strikeout last time out and will look to improve on that at home against the lowly Padres. He is a guy I will have exposure to in all formats and I think you should give him a long hard look when building your lineups.
