Pitching Targets

*Note - I discussed Daqllas Keuchel and Jason Hammel at length in the Main Article and will touch on a couple other viable options below.*

Justin Verlander FD 10000 DK 12900
Opponent - SEA (Hernandez) Park - @SEA
FD - 33.12 DK - 22.22

Since his big implosion at the end of June, Verlander has been dealing at an elite level. He has gone 5-0 in those seven starts with an impressive 1.85 ERA while limiting opponents to two earned runs or less in all seven games. He has also seen a jump in the strikeout rate(10.54 K/9) over the past month and a half. He gets a decent matchup to keep up the hot streak against the Mariners tonight. Despite being ranked as the 5th best team when looking at wOBA vs. right handed pitching, the Mariners have struggled recently ranking 24th in the last 14 days. I don't feel 100% comfortable with Verlander in cash games but feel there is a ton of upside for GPP's today.
Jaime Garcia FD 8700 DK 7800
Opponent - CIN (DeSclafani) Park - @STL
FD - 31.68 DK - 19.52

Garcia has been up and down this year making him very tough to trust in cash games but for GPP's he comes with a ton of upside. He is coming off one of his best starts of the season where he pitched eight innings of shutout ball against the Braves with 11 strikeouts and jsut one walk. The issue with Garcia this year has been good to elite offenses and he has been awful on the road this year with a ERA north of 5.00. Good news is he will be at home tonight in Busch Stadium where he has pitched to a much better 3.28 ERA while limiting opponents to a .216 batting average and .268 wOBA. He will face off vs. another weak offense in the Reds who rank 27th in wOBA vs. left handed pitching with a 23.5% strikeout rate. Lock and load.

Also Consider - J.A. Happ
