Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Oakland Athletics vs. Jered Weaver (Angels)
Park - Oakland Coliseum

The Oakland Athletics are at the top of my stack list here, as they will be taking on one of my favorite pitching targets in the league, Jered Weaver. Weaver is absolutely horrible against both lefties and righties, though he is a bit worse against left handers. Since the start of the season, Weaver has sported a horrible .370 wOBA that is backed up by some even worse peripherals and batted ball rates. While the Athletics are a right handed heavy team, they hit the fastball extremely well and have a ton of power. The one thing that does worry me is the ballpark, as the Oakland Coliseum is an extreme pitchers park. That being said, I expect the Athletics to nickel and dime Weaver and then hit a bomb or two with runners on base. I do expect a few of these guys to be very highly owned, so the sneaky stack is definitely in play here.

Main Stack - Marcus Semien, Stephen Vogt, Danny Valencia, Khris Davis

Sneaky Stack - Danny Valencia, Khris Davis, Ryon Healy, Joseph Wendle

Washington Nationals vs. Ryan Weber (Braves)
Park - Nationals Park

First of all, I want to address the Giants vs. Rockies game in Coors Field. Both of those offenses are in spectacular stacking spots, though it goes unsaid. Therefore, we are going to look at a team that will go further under the radar in the Washington Nationals. The Nationals will be taking on Ryan Weber, who has been absolutely pitiful since entering the majors. Against lefties, he has given up a wOBA that exceeds .400, with peripherals to back it up. While he profiles a decent SP4 or 5, he has not shown his ability and I will continue to target him until he does. The big bats are definitely going to be very highly owned here, so I wouldn't mind throwing out a sneaky stack in large field tournaments. Nationals Park is a neutral park and will not play too much of a factor in this one.

Main Stack - Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, Jayson Werth, Wilson Ramos

Sneaky Stack - Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, Trea Turner, Anthony Rendon
