Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

New York Yankees vs. Alex Cobb (Rays)
Park - Yankees Stadium

The Yankees are going to be our top stack tonight, and that is how you know it's a rough slate! There are definitely a few offenses in good spots, but it far from the usual 4 or 5 offenses that are predicted to breakout each night. The Yankees are taking on Alex Cobb, who has disappointed plenty since coming to the majors. Since 2013, Cobb has given up 6 or more earned runs in 7 starts, with 5 of those coming on the road. He will enter into Yankee Stadium, which is one of the best hitting parks in the league, especially for left handers. The Yankees offer up a ton of those and will look to take advantage of the ballpark factor. Though the Yankees aren't the "safest" stacking option, I think thy have a whole bunch of upside and a whole bunch of downside. Proceed with caution tonight when stacking, as nobody is in a tremendous spot. I do see merit in rolling out the sneaky stack as the Yankees lineup can produce from the bottom on occasion.

Main Stack - Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury, Gary Sanchez, Brian McCann

Sneaky Stack - Gary Sanchez, Didi Gregorious, Brian McCann, Aaron Judge

Washington Nationals vs. Alec Asher
Park - Nationals Park

The highest owned stack of the night is going to be the Nationals, and I love them as well. They are taking on Alec Asher, a right handed youngster that has been dreadful so far. Through only 30 innings, Asher has already given up 8 home runs and a pitiful .425 combined wOBA. It is going to take some time for him to get adjusted to the majors, and we are going to pick on him until he does. The Nationals are a lethal offense and have started clicking on offense as of recently. Nationals Park is a very neutral park, so that shouldn't play too big of a factor in much of anything. Harper and Murphy are obviously the top bats on the team, but there is a whole cluster of good bats after them. Because of that, I am a big fan of the sneaky stack as there is no telling where the production comes from.

Main Stack - Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, Trea Turner, Jayson Werth

Main Stack - Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, Wilson Ramos, Anthony Rendon
