Pitchers

Wade Miley FD 7800 DK 8200
Opponent - NYY (Montgomery) Park - @NYY
FD - 24.75 DK - 16.53
Pitcher as a whole is pretty ugly today. Austyn gave you Keuchel and Archer, who are fine cash game plays, but if you're looking for a nice tournament play with a ton of upside, then look no further than Wade Miley. Miley is severely underpriced for his ceiling, but he's also sitting with a pretty low floor today due to his match up with the Yankees. It's because of the match up that I won't look to Miley in cash games, but he's my play of the day in tournaments. The Yankees have a team wOBA of .310 against southpaws dating back to last year, but it climbs to .334 in the first month of this season. They've got 32 home runs, 21 coming at home, and they are actually favored to win the final game of this series. That said, in Miley we have an arm with 11.08 K/9 which is the fifth best in the AL, giving up only 0.69 HR/9 and holding opposing left handed batters to a .244 wOBA dating back to last season (.303 for right handers). The 4.85 BB/9 is concerning, but if he can take advantage of the Yankees 20.4 K% to get them swinging he can collect some K's, hope for some runs support from his offense while holding the Yanks in check, he could be in for a big day, paying huge value on his bargain salary.

Hyun-Jin Ryu FD 6600 DK 9200
Opponent - PHI (Pivetta) Park - @LAD
FD - 29.73 DK - 19.5
After Miley we're really looking at some risky plays. The Dodgers look to Sweep the Phillies out of L.A. today after a dramatic comeback last night. To complete the sweep they will send Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound. The system loves Ryu as the top points per dollar play on FanDuel where he is coming in at a steal. It's a little more iffy on DraftKings. Ryu is better than his 0-4 record would suggest, striking out 8.44 batters per 9 innings, walking 2.11, with a 1.36 WHIP. His last time out he held the Giants to just 1 run in six innings, on 5 hits and a walk. The Phillies have a .315 team wOBA which coincidentally they hold on either side of the split, both against right and left handers, and they strike out 23.6% of the time. Ryu is far form a sure thing, but there's plenty in his favor to say he could be a fantastic play on a rough slate for pitching.

Mike Foltynewicz FD 7200 DK 6700
Opponent - MIL (Garza) Park - @MIL
FD - 26.59 DK - 17.84
If you've got a weak stomach, just stop with Ryu, this next pick is not for the faint of heart. The Braves have been romping on the Brew crew this weekend, and will send Mike Foltynewicz out to close out the series today. Folty is not the splashiest name, and the Brewers are a tough opponent, but if he can keep Thames and Braun in check he could potentially cruise through the reast of the Milwaukee righty heavy lineup. Dating back to last season Foltynewicz is striking out 8.06 batters per nine, while limiting base runners to a 1.31 WHIP. He's allowing a .322 wOBA to left handed hitters, down to .308 from the right side. Thames and Braun have combined for 18 of the Brewers 43 home runs, but they also strike out 21.4% of the time combined. The early returns from Vegas have this game as a pickem with each team projected for 4.8 runs.
