Pitchers

Michael Fulmer FD 9400 DK 10500
Opponent - LAA (Ramirez) Park - @LAA
FD - 26.4 DK - 17.6

Outside of Zack Greinke tonight, the pitching is not much to get real excited about on tonight's nine-game slate. I turn to Michael Fulmer who will get a big boost to his projection if Mike Trout sits out once again. Either way, he makes sense as the Angels rank 26th in wOBA(.289) and 22nd in wRC+(86) vs. right-handed pitching and have been striking out over 26% of the time over the past seven days. Fulmer is also coming off his best start of the season where he went eight innings vs. the A's, striking out nine and allowing just one earned run for his third win of the season. He leans on his 95 mph fastball over 55% of the time and then has an even split between his slider(20.7%) and changeup(20.7%). He is a young pitcher in his second season and learning on the fly and has all the makings of being a fantasy ace. He makes a great pivot off Greinke and Keuchel on FanDuel and an excellent partner for Greinke on DraftKings if you aren't going heavy on the Coors Field bats.

J.C. Ramirez FD 7000 DK 6800
Opponent - DET (Fulmer) Park - @LAA
FD - 25.86 DK - 17.09

If you are going heavy on Coors Field bats tonight, you are going to need a cheaper value pitcher to pair with either Greinke in GPP formats. Enter JC Ramirez on the other side of the Angels/Tigers matchup. After spending most of his career in the minors with less than impressive numbers, he has put together an excellent start to the 2017 season. He started out in the bullpen but made his way into the rotation in mid-April. He struggled in his first two starts allowing eight runs but has turned the corner and allowed just three earned runs in his last three starts, spanning 18.1 innings. He has also struck out 18 batters in those three starts and now faces a Tigers team that sits with a 26.4% K rate over the past seven days. He is, by no means, a safe option tonight but has the upside to crush his value at a low ownership level.
