Pitchers

Justin Verlander FD 9900 DK 11900
Opponent - CHW (Gonzalez) Park - @CHW
FD - 37.01 DK - 19.67

It's really a case of pick your poison at the pitcher position today. I will be leaning on Jose Quintana and Zack Greinke for the most part but also thin Verlander makes a nice choice who could be one of the lowest owned in the range outside of Maeda who never seems to get deep into a game. The reason Verlander didn't make the main article is simply due to the price on Draftkings as he has reached a season high just below $12K but he has been pitching well and gets a nice matchup. He is coming off a very impressive start where he limited the Dodgers to just two hits and one earned run over eight innings while striking out nine and walking just one. He has now held opponents to three or less earned runs in eight of his last nine starts while striking out at least eight in five of those starts. The matchup is also nice vs. the White Sox who have really struggled vs. right-handed pitching this season with a .305 wOBA, 87 wRC+, and 23% strikeout rate.

Adam Conley FD 8100 DK 7900
Opponent - SD (Wood) Park - @MIA
FD - 26.9 DK - 13.5

Not only do we get a nice selection of top tier pitchers in good matchups, we also get a fairly nice crop of value SP2 options on DraftKings or deeper GPP plays on FanDuel which allow you to load up on bats. Adam Conley's name pops up tonight as he gets a nice home matchup vs. the Padres who are the only team in the majors to score under 500 total runs. Their struggles are well documented but they have been even worse against lefties with a .285 wOBA, 74 wRC+, and a 25.8% strikeout rate. For Conley, he is coming off his best start of the season where held the Mets to three hits and one earned run over seven innings while striking out 11. Prior to that start, he didn't really show much K upside so don't expect another double-digit effort but don't discount it either as he is facing the Padres.
