Pitchers

Max Scherzer FD 11800 DK 13900
Opponent - BAL (David Hess) Park - BAL
FD - 44.47 DK - 25.07
Max Scherzer has been an absolute beast this season. He's has been striking out everybody that stands in his way with an unbelievable 38.2 percent strikeout rate. He's taking on a Baltimore Orioles team that is struggling immensely. They have a 24.2 strikeout rate which is the seventh-worst in the Majors. They cannot produce any runs with a wRC+ of 84 putting them 26th overall. Furthermore, their .296 team wOBA is also horrific at 27th in the Majors. The Orioles are horrible offensively and Scherzer should be able to crush them tonight.

Fernando Romero FD 6600 DK 7800
Opponent - KC (Brad Keller) Park - KC
FD - 24.51 DK - 12.1
Fernando Romero is an interesting pitcher tonight. He's put up a 25 percent strikeout rate with a solid 1.12 WHIP and a reasonable 3.89 xFIP. He has also kept balls on the ground with a 54.3 percent groundball rate and a 158 foot average batted-ball distance. He's taking on a Kansas City Royals team that has just a .306 team wOBA and a 90 wRC+ which are among the bottom-third in all of baseball. While the Royals don't strikeout at all, they are the best in the Majors with just an 18.8 percent strikeout rate, their offense is so bad that Romero has some upside tonight at a cheap price.

Stacks

Los Angeles Angels vs. Mike Fiers (DET)
Zack Cozart FD 3100 DK 3200
Opponent - DET (Mike Fiers) Park - DET
FD - 11.31 DK - 8.64
Mike Trout FD 5400 DK 6000
Opponent - DET (Mike Fiers) Park - DET
FD - 15.78 DK - 11.69
Justin Upton FD 3700 DK 4000
Opponent - DET (Mike Fiers) Park - DET
FD - 12.7 DK - 9.52

This mini-stack is a great play tonight. The Angels will be taking on Mike Fiers tonight who has been awful this season. He cannot strike anybody out as indicated by his 15.2 percent strikeout rate. His 4.92 xFIP is the third worst on the slate and he's been getting hit hard. He has a 34.1 percent hard-hit rate and with his 43.9 percent fly-ball rate it has led to a 15.3 home run to fly-ball rate. This is trouble tonight against an Angels lineup that will have a lot of power.

In 2017, this trio of Angels smashed right-handed pitching. Mike Trout led the way with an absolute beastly .450 wOBA and .359 ISO. Following him up was Zack Cozart as a member of the Reds, putting up an elite .378 wOBA and .238 ISO. Finally, the rounding out these three, Justin Upton had a solid .351 wOBA and a .234 ISO. This makes for an elite stack tonight and have a 5.1 implied run total which is the third-highest on the slate.

Atlanta Braves vs. Jason Vargas (NYM)
Freddie Freeman FD 4300 DK 5300
Opponent - NYM (Jason Vargas) Park - NYM
FD - 13.26 DK - 9.95
Ozzie Albies FD 3800 DK 5200
Opponent - NYM (Jason Vargas) Park - NYM
FD - 12.93 DK - 10.05
Tyler Flowers FD 2900 DK 3700
Opponent - NYM (Jason Vargas) Park - NYM
FD - 10.45 DK - 7.95
Kurt Suzuki FD 2500 DK 3500
Opponent - NYM (Jason Vargas) Park - NYM
FD - 1.27 DK - 0.97

First off, I want to note that because this game is in an NL park with a pitcher being forced to hit, only one of Suzuki or Flowers will be in the lineup. However, I wanted to highlight both because this is a great split for them. The Atlanta Braves have a 5 run implied total tonight against Jason Vargas and the Mets. Although there are some small sample sizes here, this foursome of Braves hitters have crushed lefties this season. Tyler Flowers has an insane .592 wOBA and .353 ISO, albeit in just 24 plate appearances. Freddie Freeman is owning the lefty-lefty matchup with a .461 wOBA and a .268 ISO. Albies is dominating in his second season in the Majors with a .458 wOBA and a .328 ISO. And finally, Kurt Suzuki and his .411 wOBA and .286 ISO allows for another solid play at catcher if you so choose to go this route.

There aren't many positives that could be mentioned for Jason Vargas. He has a 2.16 WHIP and 22.2 percent home run to fly-ball rate, both of which are the worst on the slate. Additionally his 4.82 xFIP and 27.1 percent line-drive rate are among the bottom 5 as well. Finally, he's getting hit hard at a 37.5 percent rate. Vargas is in a lot of trouble against this Braves team that has some sneaky lefty-lefty matchups that aren't terrible.
