Pitchers

Eduardo Rodriguez FD 8100 DK 9400
Opponent - DET (Blaine Hardy) Park - DET
FD - 31.82 DK - 16.81

Eduardo Rodriguez is always a polarizing pitcher. He can certainly put up incredible strikeout numbers but his line-drive rate in previous seasons caused him to allow games to get away from him. He has put up a 28.2 percent strikeout rate so far in 2018 with an ugly 42.5 percent fly-ball rate. He also has a solid 1.21 WHIP and 3.70 xFIP. E-Rod allows generally softer contact with just a 28.1 hard-contract rate.

He's taking on the Detroit Tigers tonight who have a .311 wOBA, 94 wRC+ and just a 20.2 strikeout rate. While the matchup is average to slightly above average, his strikeout upside, despite the lack of K's from the Tigers, puts him in a spot to potentially have a big game. It helps that the Red Sox are currently -211 favourites which is the second-best on the slate.

Jose Quintana FD 8500 DK 8800
Opponent - PHI (Aaron Nola) Park - PHI
FD - 33.19 DK - 17.52

Jose Quintana has been decent this season, but his games have certainly been a roller coaster ride. He has a lowly 22.4 percent strikeout rate, but it was a solid 26.2 percent in 2017. He also put up a decent 1.22 WHIP and 3.73 xFIP.The good thing about his matchup is that he is taking on the Philadelphia Phillies, a team that has struggled. They strike out the second-most in the Majors at a 25.6 rate and their 91 wRC+ is among the worst in all of baseball. Additionally, the team wOBA of the Phllies is just .305 which ranks 24th in the league. It's a great matchup for Quintana but he has had his struggles along the way so there is certainly some risk here.

Stacks

Los Angeles Angels vs. Ian Kennedy (KC)
Ian Kinsler FD 2900 DK 3500
Opponent - KC (Ian Kennedy) Park - KC
FD - 10.56 DK - 8.06
Andrelton Simmons FD 3400 DK 3900
Opponent - KC (Ian Kennedy) Park - KC
FD - 9.12 DK - 7.1
Mike Trout FD 5400 DK 6000
Opponent - KC (Ian Kennedy) Park - KC
FD - 15.78 DK - 11.72
Justin Upton FD 3700 DK 4100
Opponent - KC (Ian Kennedy) Park - KC
FD - 12.19 DK - 9.14

The Los Angeles Angels are lucky enough to be hosting the Kansas City Royals tonight, a team that will be throwing Ian Kennedy on the mound. Kennedy has been terrible this season. He's got a slate-worst 1.62 WHIP and his 4.41 xFIP is nothing to write home about. Furthermore he doesn't strike anybody out as indicated by his 20.5 percent strikeout rate, and he's been getting hit hard. He has given up a 41.2 percent hard-hit rate, 28.6 percent line-drive rate, 89.2 mile-per-hour average exit velocity and 205 foot average batted ball distance. He's been awful and has a very tough matchup tonight.

Mike Trout, as one would expect, has crushed right-handed pitching this season as he's put up an elite .453 wOBA and .351 ISO. Andrelton Simmons is far behind him in the power department with just a .146 ISO but he has a more than solid .372 wOBA. Additionally, Justin Upton still has power in his game putting up a .349 wOBA and a .219 ISO. With the amount of hard-contact Kennedy gives up, these Angels could be in for a big game.

Oakland Athletics vs. Bartolo Colon (TEX)
Jed Lowrie FD 3400 DK 4500
Opponent - TEX (Bartolo Colon) Park - TEX
FD - 10.44 DK - 7.99
Khris Davis FD 3600 DK 4900
Opponent - TEX (Bartolo Colon) Park - TEX
FD - 13.1 DK - 9.77
Matt Olson FD 3600 DK 4400
Opponent - TEX (Bartolo Colon) Park - TEX
FD - 11.48 DK - 8.54

The Oakland Athletics have a 5.4 implied run total, which is among the highest on the slate. They are taking on 'Big Sexy' Bartolo Colon, who at age 45 is somehow still pitching in the Majors despite being wildly bad. This season he's got a horrific 42.9 percent hard-hit rate, 22.4 percent home run to fly-ball rate and a 90.2 mile-per-hour average exit velocity. He has given up 15 home runs this season which is tied for the second-most in the Majors. The Athletics have some power and they could get the best of Colon tonight.

Khris Davis is the A's big power bat and although his batting average is always low, he has a nice .355 wOBA and .277 ISO this season against right-handed pitchers. Jed Lowrie has also been huge for Oakland this season and has a .362 wOBA and .209 ISO. Matt Olson has been decent this year with a .355 wOBA and a .253 ISO, but was even better in 2017. Last season Olson smashed righties with a .439 wOBA and an incredible .434 ISO. The A's could be in for a big game if they can get the best of Big Sexy early on in the game.
