Pitcher Justin Verlander FD 12200 DK 13400 Opponent - CHW (Carlos Rodon) Park - HOU FD - 47.88 DK - 26.35 Verlander has seen some regression lately allowing 16 hits and nine earned runs over his last two starts but with Johnny Cueto returning from the DL and Tyler Skaggs being placed on the DL, he is the clear #1 option tonight. He is also in a great spot as the Astros open as monstrous -270 favorites against the White Sox who rank 24th in runs scored(341) overall while also ranking 22nd in wOBA(.308) and 17th in wRC+(95) vs. right-handed pitching with a 24.9% K rate. Despite the struggles lately, Verlander still sits with an impressive 2.12 ERA, 3.56 xFIP and elite 10.92 K/9 and 12.7% swinging strike rate. Fire up Verlander in all formats. Marco Gonzales FD 7300 DK 7300 Opponent - LAA (Jaime Barria) Park - SEA FD - 27.92 DK - 13.91 The pickings are pretty slim on this eight-game slate but to fit Verlander in on DraftKings we are going to need some value. Enter Marco Gonzales who is coming off his best start of the season as he went the distance against the Royals allowing just one earned run while striking out seven and walking none. It was the sixth time in his last nine starts he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in a start and while there has been some bad games, he sits with an above average 3.77 ERA and even better 3.45 xFIP. The matchup looks scary at first glance as the Angels sit just outside the Top 10 in runs scored this season but they have struggled lately ranking 27th in wOBA(.275) and wRC+(75) over the last 14 days. Considering the price, I think he makes an excellent SP2 on DraftKings and a value GPP play on FanDuel allowing you to stack the bats. Also consider Max Fried(ATL) who has been terrific in his first two starts holding opponents to one earned run with 17 strikeouts in 11.2 innings First Base/Catcher Paul Goldschmidt FD 4300 DK 5200 Opponent - SD (Eric Lauer) Park - ARI FD - 13.34 DK - 9.96 My top bat overall is Paul Goldschmidt who has everything going his way tonight. After a terrible month of May,...

Daily Fantasy MLB Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 7/4/18 Happy July 4th all you freedom lovers! For the holiday, MLB has scheduled a full day’s worth of games starting in the early afternoon and spreading out to the evening. We'll concentrate on the later afternoon (4PM EST) slate of games, as well as the main slate for the evening. All in all, it should make for a great holiday. So fire up the BBQ, get out the fireworks and read your friends and family these picks out loud as entertainment. Pitcher Afternoon Aaron Nola FD 10100 DK 13100 Opponent - BAL (David Hess) Park - PHI FD - 35.56 DK - 19.04 I do think the DraftKings price is a little out of bounds considering we haven’t seen a return to the K per inning guy we saw last season. It’s tough to roster a $13K pitcher if the strikeouts aren’t off the charts. But for the early slate, his sub-$10K FanDuel price likely makes him the safest cash game pitcher going early. It helps that we move the Orioles into a National League park. This is an offense ranked 26th in the league against right-handed pitching and they strike out 25% of the time in the split. As of this writing, there was no early line on the game though I suspect Nola comes in as something like a -140 favorite (or more) considering the lack of line was based on an Oriole pitcher making a spot start. Honestly, I did expect to see a little more growth from Nola this season, but he’s still an upper tier arm with solid strikeout stuff. Jose Quintana FD 7200 DK 7900 Opponent - DET (Francisco Liriano) Park - CHC FD - 32.79 DK - 17.15 This one doesn’t feel great, but the pitching strength definitely lies more on the evening slate of games. On the one hand, Quintana is a massive -230 home favorite (no over/under as we wait on the Wrigley Field wind directions) against the Tigers. Detroit is in the upper third of the league against lefty pitching this season with a low strikeout rate. What’s helping Quintana here is the low price and the win expectation. He’s really struggled at times in 2018 with a troublesome uptick in walks and a decrease in strikeouts. But what we...

DFS MLB Podcast for Tuesday 7/3/18 - FanDuel and DraftKings The DFSR crew of James Davis and Doug Norrie returns to the podcast after a week hiatus to discuss the Tuesday slate of MLB action for FanDuel and DraftKings. They kick things off looking at some of the pitchers going today and looking at whether Clayton Kershaw is still in the conversation for best arms in the game. They also look at a pivot to Zack Greinke and where guys like Domingo German, Shane Bieber and Andrew Heaney stack up as cash games options. Of course, there’s a game in Coors to deal with considering two below average arms take the mound there. But they also look at the Reds against Lucas Giolito and the Astros facing Austin-Bibens-Dirkx. Be sure to subscribe...

Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 7/3/18

Daily Fantasy MLB Pitchers and Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 7/3/18 We already highlighted Zack Greinke and Shane Bieber in our 7/3/18 picks article. Here we will look at some other (possible GPP) considerations. Let's get started. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB optimizer and our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Anthony DeSclafani FD 6800 DK 7600 Opponent - CHW (Lucas Giolito) Park - CHW FD - 28.88 DK - 14.7 After missing all of 2017 due to injury, he was again injured early in the 2017 Spring Training and got another late start to the season in 2018. He has rebounded, however, and looked decent in his first five starts of the season posting a 4.45 ERA and holding opponents to a two or fewer earned runs in three of those starts. He has a great opportunity tonight to do that again as the Reds open as -200 favorites to the White Sox who rank 24th in overall runs scored in 2018 and 24th in wOBA(.305) and 20th in wRC+(94) against right-handed pitching. He isn't a big K guy striking out just over 7.5 batters per nine but will also receive a bump tonight as the Pale Hose also strike out 25.1% of the time vs. righties. Given his value price on both sites, his PTS/$ value makes him an excellent SP2 on DraftKings in all formats and also a nice GPP option on FanDuel which allows you to load up on the bats. Zach Eflin FD 9100 DK 9900 Opponent - BAL (Alex Cobb) Park - BAL FD - 28.55 DK - 13.69 Speaking of good matchups, Zach Eflin gets one of those tonight against an Orioles team that has scored the second-fewest runs this season(305) and ranks 26th in wOBA(.293) and 25th in wRC+(83) against right-handed pitching while striking out 24.7% of the time. The matchup is not the only thing that puts Eflin on the radar tonight as he has been terrific all season holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five straight and eight of his 10 starts this season for a 3.02 ERA and 3.73 xFIP. He is averaging 5.6 innings per start which he should continue to build on as he is only walking just over two per nine and the biggest difference from 2017 to 2018 is the K's as he went from striking out under five per nine to striking out over...

We've got you completely covered. Pitcher Zack Greinke FD 10100 DK 10900 Opponent - STL (Jack Flaherty) Park - ARI FD - 39.86 DK - 21.46 Without knowing what the pitch count will be for Clayton Kershaw tonight, I will be turning to Zack Greinke as my top pitching option tonight. The park is not the best for pitchers but don't tell Greinke that as, for the second straight season, he has been dominant at Chase Field. This season is an even bigger split as he enters tonight with a 2.40 ERA at Chase Field while posting a 4.31 ERA on the road. He has also been very good lately as well allowing no earned runs over his last two starts(13 innings pitched) and while he doesn't have elite K stuff, he is still striking out over a batter per inning(9.44 K/9). The Cardinals have been better against right-handed pitchers but still rank in the bottom half of the league and have struggled with swing and misses lately with a 27% K rate over the last 14 days. All things considered, Greinke is in play in all formats tonight. Shane Bieber FD 8200 DK 9600 Opponent - KC (Danny Duffy) Park - KC FD - 35.9 DK - 18.74 Since starting his rookie campaign allowing four earned runs to the Twins at the end of May, Bieber has been dominant for the Indians holding opponents to just two earned runs combined in his last three starts. He has enjoyed a ton of success thanks to his fantastic control as he has walked just four batters combined in the four starts to go along with 27 strikeouts. He now gets arguably his best matchup of the season as he and the Indians will be facing the Royals who currently rank dead last in wOBA(.286) and wRC+(78) against right-handed pitching. He has reached a season-high salary on both sites but considering the talent and matchup, he is in play in all formats. First Base/Catcher Brandon Belt FD 3700 DK 5500 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - COL FD - 13.64 DK - 10.22 Let's start the positional players picks with a trip to Coors Field with Brandon Belt at first base. He is having a career year in 2018 as he entered Monday night with a...
