Enjoy.   Toronto Raptors at Miami Heat Analysis You like games that end up with fewer than 190 points? It's the Raptors and Heat, baby! While there wouldn't be much to say about this series normally, we've been delivered two huge bombshells over the weekend: both Hassan Whiteside and Jonas Valancunias will almost certainly miss the game. Figuring out where those minutes are headed will likely be the key to profiting from this slate, so without further ado, let's parse it. Top Plays Bismack Biyombo - FD 4700 DK 3900 Opponent - MIA FD Proj. Pts - 27.28 DK Proj. Pts - 27.85 When Valancunias missed time earlier this season, Bismack was a routine 30-40+ fantasy points contributor. If Whiteside were playing I'd have some concerns about foul trouble and being up against a superior rebounder, but with this looking like a heavy dose of guys like Udonis Haslem, Josh McRobert, and Amar'e Stoudemire, I think Biyombo feasts here. I don't see any way around him playing 30+ minutes and putting up at least 5x points per dollar, and I'd say he's a favorite for 6x or better. On the same token, I likely won't be gambling on the Heat bigs. Whiteside only played 8 minutes in game 3, and none of the other guys really played enough to have a huge impact. You could make a case for Haslem as a play on DraftKings, but I love Biyombo on FD. DeMar DeRozan - FD 7600 DK 7300 Opponent - MIA FD Proj. Pts - 37.23 DK Proj. Pts - 38.19 Kyle Lowry - FD 7900 DK 7500 Opponent - MIA FD Proj. Pts - 34.96 DK Proj. Pts - 37.3 I'm not going to lose sleep on one bad game from DeRozan - he shot 6/17 (which shouldn't happen again here) and had 3 very solid games before that. As for Lowry, things are...

After rolling the Pistons in round 1 they're dusting off their Nimbus Two Thousands in the fourth game of round 2. Didn't expect to see a Harry Potter joke in a daily fantasy basketball article? Tough. I'm reading them to my kids each night, and I've got Hogwarts on the brain. So what did we learn from game 3? Well, more than I would have expected. We saw a roster flexibility that neither team had showed up til this point - Channing Frye led the Cavs in scoring, Kevin Love lost 10 minutes in spite of grabbing 15 boards in 29 minutes, and Tristan Thompson disappeared. On the Hawks side, Al Horford saw his minutes go drainward (the chess piece that caused the Cavs to go small and ultimately win), Teague is back in the picture, and Thabo got big minutes as the de-facto guy who's best suited to cover LeBron. What does this mean for this slate? Let's do it. Top Plays The Cavs' starters We have some tiers working here, since there are a lot of assumptions at play. LeBron James - FD 10800 DK 11100 Opponent - ATL FD Proj. Pts - 53.51 DK Proj. Pts - 55.67 By a mile. The more things change for the Cavs from game to game, the more they stay the same for James. After a 50+ fantasy performance in game 3, he's going to be out there cracking skulls again in game 4. The Hawks are throwing the kitchen sink at him and it's making no difference. I'm doubling down here for sure. Kyrie Irving - FD 7900 DK 8300 Opponent - ATL FD Proj. Pts - 38.59 DK Proj. Pts - 40.75 J.R. Smith - FD 5100 DK 5400 Opponent - ATL FD Proj. Pts...

We've got you completely covered. We've also launched a Stats and Research Page, which includes a lot of the individual statistics that we use to make our projections. It's free! Enjoy. Miami Heat at Toronto Raptors Analysis These two teams played about the ugliest 7 game series that I can recall in recent league memory, and now we get to watch another hard fought slog in round 2. Huzzah! The Raptors and Heat each played a bottom 5 PACE this season. They also played a top 10 defensive efficiency each. The game has a 191 O/U. Barf. That said, this game should be a much more even contest than the Trail Blazers/Warriors, and there are still some values to be had. Top Plays Joe Johnson - FD 4700 DK 4700 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 23.97 DK Proj. Pts - 26.03 DeMarre Carroll - FD 4400 DK 4300 Opponent - MIA FD Proj. Pts - 23.23 DK Proj. Pts - 25.08 The cheap small forwards. Both are set to play tons of minutes in game 1, and while Carroll makes for a very bad match-up for Johnson, pickings are slim on a 2 game slate with a game featuring two grind-it-out half court teams. I'm particularly intrigued by Carroll's huge game 7 minutes against Indiana. If he's really ready to go, he could have serious upside - he was a $6,000 player when getting these minutes in the past. Dwyane Wade - FD 7500 DK 8200 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 38.12 DK Proj. Pts - 38.71 DeMar DeRozan - FD 7400 DK 7000 Opponent - MIA FD Proj. Pts - 35.83 DK Proj. Pts - 36.76 The expensive two guards, coming off of two very different series. Wade was steady before turning in a fantasy dud in admittedly fewer minutes in game 7. DeRozan was all over the place, but put the Raptors on his shoulders as they closed out the Pacers. They'll likely be defending one another here, and my guess is that both will save some energy...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 5/2/16 Playoffs

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 5/2/16 Playoffs Happy Monday, y'all! It's another small slate today, and, get used to it - that's going to be the case for basically the remainder of the postseason. Just 1.1 rounds into this year's playoffs, and it's already been the craziest I've seen in my daily fantasy basketball career. It looked like we were headed toward some sanity in round 2, only to have the Spurs blow the doors off the Thunder in game 1. What will game 2 hold? Let's hold our breath and venture an educated guess.   Now’s your chance to get DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. Or try a free trial of our base package with projections for every player. While the seasons overlap, you'll get access to our tools for the NBA and MLB! We've got you completely covered. We've also launched a Stats and Research Page, which includes a lot of the individual statistics that we use to make our projections. It's free! Enjoy.   Oklahoma City Thunder at San Antonio Spurs Well, game 1 didn't exactly go as many predicted it would. Instead of a hard-fought game where the Thunder couldn't quite get it done, the Spurs ran them off the court. In spite of Kevin Durant looking reasonable against Kawhi Leonard (the big question going into the series), the Thunder got destroyed on account of an awful night for Russell Westbrook and an historic night from Lamarcus Aldridge. So what to make of game 2? Well, Vegas still only likes the Spurs as a 7.5 point favorite - the very same spread as the Cavs/Hawks game. So, if we're not going to modify the Cavs/Hawks projections for blowout possibilities (and we're not), this looks like a situation to keep a steady hand with our projections for opportunity in this series. We've made some modifications, of course - I can't imagine the Spurs are going to let OKC off the Aldridge hook without making them prove they can get a stop first - but otherwise these picks are going to basically be the same as when Doug wrote them up a few days ago, with a few modifications. Top Value Plays Russell Westbrook - FD 10600 DK 10700 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 54.71 DK Proj. Pts - 56.59 Kevin Durant - FD 10000 DK 9500 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts...

We've got you completely covered.   Miami Heat at Charlotte Hornets Analysis After two decisive victories for Miami at home, Charlotte completely shuffled the deck in game 3. With Batum absent, many (including me) figured that we'd see more Jeremy Lin. Instead, the Hornets went big, shuffling more minutes to Frank Kaminsky, Marvin Williams, and Cody Zeller. Their big-ball lineup yielded an incredible 3 turnovers for the whole game, and won in spite of generally lousy shooting. What will game 4 hold? It's anybody's guess, but I'd suspect that it will be a fairly close game where starters play their projected minutes. The big piece of missing information here is what's shaking with Nic Batum. If he misses Monday's game we can count on a similar minutes distribution to what we got in game 3. If he returns, it's sort of anybody's guess. These picks will be written assuming he sits once again. Top Value Plays Frank Kaminsky - FD 3700 DK 3400 Opponent - MIA FD Proj. Pts - 26.24 DK Proj. Pts - 27.99 Kaminsky was the big minutes winner in game 3, and put up a solid 15 and 7 in a sort of startling 35 minutes on the court. The Heat struggled to keep up with the Hornets 2-big lineups, and it's hard to imagine Charlotte not at least trying this again given their game 3 success. Frank is still priced very safely, so we could see 5-8 minutes shaved off his previous total and he could still pay these prices. Easy play in any format unless we hear that Batum is back. Marvin Williams - FD 5100 DK 4800 Opponent - MIA FD Proj. Pts - 28.58 DK Proj. Pts - 30.83 Marvin was finally Marvin again in game 3, going for 12 and 14 in 36 minutes. With his sea legs under him, he's all...
