Long Ball Targets

Josh Donaldson FD 4500 DK 5600
Opponent - ARI (Corbin) Park - @TOR
FD - 15.19 DK - 11.59

Josh DONG-aldson will be going up against southpaw Patrick Corbin. When you look at the back of DONG-aldson baseball card (do kids still collect baseball cards) it says that he plays third base for the Blue Jays, eats southpaws for breakfast and hits dongs for a living. With his baseball card saying all of that, it only made sense for me to write about DONG-aldson in my "Long Ball" article.

Since 2015, DONG-aldson owns a .296 ISO, .416 wOBA and 166 wRC+. Let's just say the back of his baseball card was not lying, and he really does devour left-handed pitchers for a living. And most importantly -- his last name has "dong" in it, so there is no way I am going to fade the former MVP. He's expensive, but trust me, he's worth the investment.

P.S. Hitters have a 39.2% hard contact rate against Corbin, so look for DONG-aldson's dinger to be an absolute bomb!

Yoenis Cespedes FD 4000 DK 4300
Opponent - KC (Kennedy) Park - @NYM
FD - 10.64 DK - 8.24

I couldn't get creative with a name like "Yoenis Cespedes," but what I can say is that I love the spot he is in to give a souvenir to someone sitting in the outfield bleachers (yes -- by souvenir I mean long ball).

He will be going up against Mr. Fly ball (Ian Kennedy) today. He owns a 47.0 FB% to go along with a 1.85 HR/9. Talk about some odds in Cespedes favor! I know it is a R/R matchup, but Cespedes is one of those guys that has reverse splits. What I mean by that is that he hits righties better than lefties. He owns a .373 wOBA to go along with an ISO just under .300. This guy has some serious power, so be watch out with the Cuban outfielder.

Value Play Long Ball Target

Alex Rodriguez FD 3500 DK 3700
Opponent - COL (Bettis) Park - @NYY
FD - 10.95 DK - 8.38

A-Rod at Yankee Stadium vs. Chad Bettis? Sign me up!

I know he's 40 years old and does not have the same power he once had, but he is has the ability to go yard, especially at a park that is very generous to batters. Plus, he's still got something left in the tank!

Since 2015, he owns a .206 ISO and .333 wOBA against right-handed pitchers (not bad for a guy that is at the tail-end of his career). He's still got some pop and going up against Chad Bettis will help him out. Bettis is another guy that has reversed splits. Right-handers hit him, and they hit him hard. They own a .373 wOBA, .527 SLG and 38.7% hard contact rate. Everything is in A-Rod's favor; so don't sleep on the old man!

So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.
