DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 8/16/19
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 8/16/19 Friday's MLB action features an ace on the mound but also two expensive teams with crazy-high implied run totals. It will be tough to fit all into lineups together. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! That happens to be the Royals-Mets matchup, with some heavy rain in the forecast. The other cities/teams that have light showers projected are New York, Colorado, Philadelphia and Washington. While none of those are expected to be serious, it's imperative to check before submitting lineups. Pitchers Charlie Morton FD 11300 DK 11600 Opponent - DET (Daniel Norris) Park - DETFD - 43.95 DK - 24.5 Morton is easily the best pitching option on the board. We're talking about a guy with a 2.90 ERA and 1.09 WHIP this season while generating a 30 percent K rate dating back to last year. Those absurd numbers are backed up by an xFIP barely cracking 3.00 and it's truly scary just how good of a matchup he gets here. Morton gets to face this terrible Tigers lineup, with the Motor City Kitties currently ranked bottom-two in runs scored, OBP, OPS, K rate and xwOBA. That's why Morton and the Rays enter this matchup as a -310 favorite. Rick Porcello FD 6700 DK 7000 Opponent - BAL (Aaron Brooks) Park - BALFD - 26.54 DK - 13.73 This might make us certifiably insane to recommend a guy like Porcello but the likelihood at a win is impossible to overlook. The simple fact is, this dude has 145 wins dating back to 2009, which is simply one of the best marks in baseball. That can be attributed to his ability to go deep into games, with Porcello pitching at least 4,2 innings in 20 of his last 22 starts, despite posting a nightmarish ERA and WHIP. He should be able to limit the damage against an offense like this, with Baltimore ranked 21st in K rate, 24th in runs scored, 26th in OBP, 25th in OPS and 27th in both wOBA and xwOBA. That's why Porcello enters this matchup as a -270 favorite with this potent lineup backing him up. Catcher/First Base Daniel Murphy FD 3000 DK 4100 Opponent - MIA (Sandy Alcantara) Park - MIAFD - 15.04 DK - 11.55 These prices are truly shocking. How often do you see a Rockies player who bats in...

Get started for free by clicking the button below.START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!This is one of those slates where you need to check the weather! We have rain forecasted in half of these games and it's going to be a nightmare if you don't understand the forecasts prior to submitting lineups. With that in mind, let's get to some of our best value plays for Tuesday!PitchersBrendan McKay FD - P 8000 DK - SP 8100 Opponent - SD (Eric Lauer) Park - SDFD - 29.82 DK - 15.56This is a relatively easy pick at these prices. Let's start with McKay's absurd minor league numbers, with the southpaw generating a 1.15 ERA and 0.82 WHIP at Triple-A this season. Those ridiculous numbers are backed up by a K rate north of 35 percent and it's simply impossible to argue with those sort of statistics. While he hasn't been quite that good at the Majors, a 3.76 xFIP and 1.21 WHIP isn't too shabby. What adds to his intrigue here is that he gets to face an NL lineup in a pitcher's park. It happens to be a weak lineup too, with the Padres ranked 23rd in runs scored, 27th in K rate and 23rd in OBP.Domingo German FD - P 9600 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - BAL (John Means) Park - NYYFD - 38.26 DK - 20.77German is quietly having a great year for the Yankees and it's always worth considering pitchers against the Orioles. Let's start with this matchup, as Baltimore currently sits 21st in K rate, 26th in runs scored, 25th in OBP, 26th in OPS and 28th in xwOBA. That's scary against a pitcher like German, who's 15-2 with a 4.05 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. He's also got a 4.02 xFIP and 26 percent K rate, as he's done that damage while navigating through some tough opponents recently. In three starts against the Orioles this season, German is 3-0 and hasn't allowed more than two runs in any one of them. There are a number of good pitching options on this slate. Gerrit Cole (FD $11800 DK $12700) is crazy expensive, but is also a massive -330 road favorite against the woeful White Sox. Matthew Boyd (FD $10400 DK $10300) is also in a great spot against the Mariners and has been awesome this season. Catcher/First BaseDaniel Murphy FD - 1B 3200 DK - 1B 4200 Opponent - ARI (Zac Gallen) Park - COLFD - 14.76 DK - 11.34These prices are truly shocking. How often do...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday 8/11/19Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below.START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!It's Sunday and that always makes for a fun slate. What really makes it interesting is the fact that we have many divisional games occurring. That makes these finals games of the series imperative, as it will be one of the final times to gain a game on their counterparts. That means all the studs should show out and that's all we can ask for as DFS players. PitchersJustin Verlander FD - P 12500 DK - SP 12400 Opponent - BAL (Asher Wojciechowski) Park - BALFD - 46.89 DK - 27.12Using Justin Verlander is always a good idea, particularly in a matchup like this. Let's start with the Orioles, as they simply have one of the worst offenses in baseball. That's evident by the fact that they rank 21st in K rate, 26th in runs scored, 27th in OBP, 25th in OPS and 28th in xwOBA. That's truly frightening against a stud like Verlander, who's pitching to a 2.68 ERA and 0.81 WHIP while striking out 206 batters. That's why he enters this matchup as a -380 favorite, which is one of the highest money lines all season. Lucas Giolito FD - P 9800 DK - SP 10600 Opponent - OAK (Chris Bassitt) Park - CHWFD - 35.12 DK - 18.12Finding a second pitcher was a tough task on this slate but it's hard to argue with a guy having a breakout season. Giolito is doing just that, as he's generating a 3.44 ERA and 1.13 WHIP while whiffing 158 batters. What's really impressive about Giolito is how much his swing-and-miss stuff continues to improve, with Gio striking out at least seven batters in four-straight games. That's huge against a righty-heavy offense like this, with Oakland throwing out guys like Khris Davis, Matt Chapman, Marcus Semien and Stephen Piscotty. He's a good pitcher two on DraftKings and an interesting upside play on FanDuel as well.Catcher/First BasePaul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 3700 DK - 1B 4000 Opponent - PIT (Steven Brault) Park - STLFD - 14.13 DK - 10.64Goldy has been disappointing for season-long fantasy players but he's too good of a player to be priced this cheaply. We're talking about a guy who has a .426 OBP, .585 SLG and 1.011 OPS against left-handers for his career. Those are simply absurd numbers and his recent form only adds to his intrigue. Over his last 16 games, Goldy has seven homers and 15 RBI en route to a 1.000 OPS. This...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 8/9/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below.START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!This isn't my favorite slate of the season and we have some tough decisions to make. You're really going to notice that by our pitching selections, with the top-notch options being priced so highly. That's why we're going to aim for a couple of value pitchers to help get in some of the stud bats we have recommended. PitchersJulio Teheran FD - P 9000 DK - SP 8800 Opponent - MIA (Caleb Smith) Park - MIAFD - 31.08 DK - 16.24It's tough to recommend a pitcher who's xFIP is two runs higher than his ERA but the simple fact is, Teheran is getting it done. Any guy with a 3.46 ERA and 1.30 WHIP is in consideration, particularly in a matchup like this. The Marlins currently rank bottom-three in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, xwOBA, SLG and xSLG. That's really no surprise when you consider that this is the toughest park to hit in. That's why we're looking at a total of 8, with Miami projected for fewer than four runs. All of those Miami stats are evident in Teheran's first three starts against them, as he's pitched 18 scoreless innings while striking out 15 batters. Kyle Freeland FD - P 6300 DK - SP 4800 Opponent - SD (Cal Quantrill) Park - SDFD - 27.33 DK - 13.7This is a total punt play and it's going to be tough to click that little green plus next to Freeland's name. The simple fact is, this dude has been terrible this season. That's why he's earned this price tag but there's reason to believe he can provide value here. We're talking about a guy who had a breakout 2018 campaign, in which he pitched to a 2.89 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He's shown some flashes of that recently, allowing two runs or fewer in two of his last three starts. What makes him intriguing here is this matchup, with the Padres ranking 27th in K rate, 23rd in runs scored and 24th in OPS. The move from Coors Field to Petco Park is the biggest bonus though, with Freeland's road ERA (4.91) nearly half of his home ERA this season (9.50). Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD 3500 DK 4000 Opponent - PIT (Chris Archer) Park - PITFD - 12.46 DK - 9.38 This most definitely isn't the version of Paul Goldschmidt the Cardinals thought they were getting in the Arizona trade, but that doesn't mean we need to avoid the...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 8/6/19
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 8/6/19 Baseball might be entering the dog days of August, but that doesn't mean we take a day off from the DFS grind. There's plenty to like about Tuesday evening's main slate of games. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below.START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!We have a ton of weather on this full 15-game slate and it's going to be key to check in on that before submitting lineups. Seven of the 15 games actually have rain forecasted and that'll make for yet another interesting slate. With that in mind, let's use three pitchers that we feel won't have any weather issues...PitchersZack Greinke FD - P 9700 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - COL (German Marquez) Park - HOUFD - 35.66 DK - 19.15The Astros made the biggest splash at the deadline by acquiring Greinke and it's time for the fun to begin. This dude has been nails all season long, as is evidenced by his 2.90 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. That looks even more impressive when you consider his 135 Ks and it's scary to think that he gets to pitch for one of the best clubs in baseball. We always love to use pitchers against the Rockies on the road too, with Colorado sitting 23rd in K rate, 30th in road OBP and 29th in road OPS. Zack Wheeler FD - P 10700 DK - SP 10600 Opponent - MIA (Jordan Yamamoto) Park - NYMFD - 39.36 DK - 20.8It's always wise to use pitchers against the Marlins, particularly someone as talented as Wheeler. We're talking about a pitcher with a 3.50 xFIP and 26 percent K rate facing the worst lineup in baseball. In fact, Miami currently ranks bottom-three in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, xwOBA, SLG and xSLG. That's really scary in a place like Citi Field, which ranks as one of the best pitching park in baseball. That's why Wheeler enters this matchup as a -200 favorite with Miami projected for only 3.5 runs. We also like Dinselson Lamet and his 29 percent K rate facing a Mariners team who ranks 28th in strikeouts per game. Catcher/First BaseJoey Votto FD - 1B 3200 DK - 1B 4100 Opponent - LAA (Jose Suarez) Park - CINFD - 13.46 DK - 10.08Votto has really found his bat over the last two months and these sites just continue to disrespect him with these prices. Over his last 58 games, Votto is hitting .300 while accruing a .373 OBP and .835 OPS. The power is still lacking but it's...
